Just around the corner from the Bocca de Veritas a great place for lunch. It is bigger inside when you go through to the restaurant. Wonderful Italian wines and great pizza and salads .

We found this place by accident and it was great. Simple but well thought out menu and the staff were very friendly. We had a mix of burgers, pizza, lasagna and cured Italian meats with a portion of very tasty gelato for dessert.

Landed in Rome early evening and when we got to are hotel we decided to use trip advisor to find somewhere close to eat. 0.75 had good reviews and I can see why. It was a lovely bar that had a free starter buffet and good menu selection for main course. The atmosphere was great and the staff were very... More

My boyfriend and myself decided to visit after a morning of walking around the colosseum. It took us around 10-15minutes to walk but was within easy reach. We were pleasantly greeted by the staff and took a seat inside. The place itself is edgy with a relaxed atmosphere, there's easy going music playing and a cool cut vibe throughout. My... More

Dropped our bags and headed straight out - came across this great little place on our way into the city. Friendly service from our Waitress, Barbera, who was lovely. Great wine (Lazio Syrah - try it!) and delicious pasta and pizza. All sat outside in the sunshine! Thanks - we'll be back!

We popped in here for a late lunch before exploring the baths of Caracalla. Looks like a touristy place but we didn't want to search around so went in. It was filled with locals, very lively atmosphere with great beers on tap and surprisingly good food. The waitress was totally fun and was willing to speak with us in Italian... More

Draught beer is 5/6€. They have Italian, Belgian and Irish beers. When I visited with my gf, they even had a free buffet there - mini pizzas, risotto, ham, bread, carrots with dip. It was refreshing. A DJ came to play at 21:30 and he was really good. Chill place.

Popped in for a drink and an ice cream and thought it was a fun place with great waiters. Directed us to an ice cream parlour next door which was excellent. Lively place with a good atmosphere, even going early as we did. Definitely worth a visit.

Thank Tim C

Staying in Piazza Venezia / Ancient City

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazza Venezia / Ancient City
If all roads lead to Rome, then they all end here. Piazza Venezia and the Ancient City are the very epicenter of the Eternal City. Within a 360-degree turn, Roman history unrolls in front of you, from its ancient beginnings to its 21st century transformations. Whether it’s those historical playgrounds known as the Roman and Imperial Forums, or the side-street shops, trattorie, and churches, this neighbourhood packs a cultural punch and then some. Screaming scooters, battling buses, crazy cars, and lots of foot traffic converge in the area all day long. By dusk, a different vibe emerges as the neighbourhood quiets down. Don't be surprised if you find yourself passing through the Piazza Venezia at least once a day, since it’s the most direct way to get from one side of town to another.
