Our first day in Italy, after a long plane ride, exhausted, we asked our front desk for a recommendation in our area and she gave us Restaurant II Vineto. We walked a few short blocks through the chill air of autumn and found it! Inside this small restaurant, walls lined with a cellars worth of wine we were seated andimediatly... More

The Bernini Hotel recommended this restaurant to us. We have never had such great service. We felt like we were the only people in the restaurant! We ordered the fresh seafood for an appetizer and it was amazing. The server squeezed lemon on every piece of seafood, so delicately. We ordered the sea bass also and we were surprised by... More

Great sophisticated atmosphere, enjoyed some good company, good food and excellent service, would recommend highly. The staff are efficient and friendly and the food is authentic and delicious. A bit expensive, but well worth it. Of course it is a tourist oriented restaurant, but it is very special....

Okay food but they will absolutely exploit tourists to rip you off. We asked for Sea bass, at about 8 euros on the menu. We asked specifically for one portion (we were only popping in for a light bite and ordered other things). When the bill came we were charged 80 euros for the Sea Bass alone! We raised the... More

Went late one evening with a colleague. After a complimentary prospecto we ate a well cooked chateaubriand. Speedy friendly service in a charming mixture of languages with nice atmosphere (so many Roman restaurants favour bright lighting like McDonalds) . Will definitely return to try the other dishes.

We happened into this place in 2012 and had the best homemade fettuccini we had every eaten. While planning our trip for 2016, it was unanimous that we find this place again and so we did. It did not disappoint. We were given a glass of Champagne to start, and Lemoncello after our meal. It was a wonderful way to... More

Stumbled on this excellent resto while walking back to the Westin Rome. Small room, wine bottles all round, Personable service. Excellent wine choice by waiter. Just the right atmosphere for a romantic dinner.

Recommended to us by hotel concierge, we went there for late lunch/early dinner with 2 adults and 2 children. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Not long after being seated, we were given complimentary glasses of champagne and our order was taken. All our meals were delicious. Enjoyed Gnocchi, Margherita pizza and Fettuccine. Wine was lovely. The atmosphere was very relaxing... More

Our first night in Rome we walked outside our B&B and went here on the advice of our innkeeper. It's a small place with an enthusiastic, attentive staff. They had a wide selection of fish and local dishes - we each settled on a veal entree and were delighted. Started with a seafood carpaccio, They have a very extensive wine... More

This place is awesome and unexpected. When you arrive to this cute winery style bistro they give you a glass of complementary bubbly. They bring Bread and menus. Cheerful, cute Italian waiters. They speak English and recommended a wine that was spectacular with my pasta. Which was superb. The owner was singlin in itilian while working. I took a picture with... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
