Having been to Rome for the Rugby on two previous occasions we ate in La Friseria several times .This time we were a party of 34 persons so I phoned and booked tables at the restaurant in advance of our trip. When we arrived all the tables were set out downstairs ready for us. Service was first class and the... More

Visited this restaurant once again for the 3rd year running as a group of 33 adults visiting Rome on a rugby weekend. Fantastic food staff are really friendly and couldn't do enough for us service was excellent. Will recommend to anyone staying near there.

This was my first meal ever in Italy & it was the still my favourite at the end of our stay. Taste & texture was just perfect! Need to speed up the service though - but it was worth the wait. Waiters were polite & friendly.

We stayed in Flaminio for a week and came here three times and were always welcomed warmly. We ate a range of foods from salads, pizza, pasta, secondi - all were very enjoyable. I preferred the beer to the wine as the white wine was not the type I particularly like. Price seemed right for the food quality and service.

Had dinner there with a friend, mid August. Had to wait a lot for the antipasti (probably they forgot about it) which were good but not amazing. However, what was really great was the tonarelli pomodoro basilico and straccia ...something (cheese). Simply perfect! For the pasta alone I rate it very good! The waiter was very polite.

Totally enjoyable experience. Visited with the family, had brushetta and pasta and did not disappoint. Clean, bright, warm and inviting atmosphere. Friendly staff. Try the coffee with Tiramsu cream. wonderful.

Apart from the fact that the food is befitting that of a canteen, I have never experienced such rude service. The owner is a contemptuous, unfriendly, arrogant piece of work who clearly shouldn't be in this industry. The food was absolutely terrible- the "Frise" were stale pieces of cheap white bread with toppings that could only have come from a... More

Staying in Flaminio

Neighbourhood Profile
The Flaminio area has been making a name for itself as a hub for contemporary architecture and art. Over the past decade, Flamino’s grassy knolls have seen the rise of cultural centres - amazing feats of architecture like the beautiful Ponte della Musica, the wavy contemporary art MAXXI Museum, and the futuristic Parco della Musica, a music complex where international names perform. Flaminio also has traces of the 1960 Olympic Games with Palazzetto dello Sport and Villagio Olimpico, the athlete’s Olympic village turned residential housing. If culture means a ball and a foot, keep your eye on the prize: Rome’s famed Stadio Olimpico football stadium is just a short walk across a bridge.
