We ate here as it was close to where we were staying and the reviews looked OK. The ambience of the restaurant inside wasn't right - lighting too bright and the furniture was uncomfortable. There were a couple of Italian families seated next to us so we thought it must be good but when our food arrived we were disappointed... More

Off the beaten path with good portions of reasonably priced pasta and salad, nice wine list, steady stream of local and tourist patrons. Friendly service, English spoken.

Came in here straight after freshening up at the hotel it was close and looked inviting so we gave it a try sitting outside on a warm balmy night Great friendly service very relaxed not rushed stayed over two hours enjoying wine and two courses the crispy octopus with broad bean mash and olive tapenade was really really good as... A pretty Trattoria right next to our hotel. The staff were okay with us. We couldn't afford the dearer stuff on the menu so we each ordered a variation on carbonara. The portions were small, mine wasn't hot (although to be fair the others were) and drinks were pricey. Not much more to be said about the place really. Some... More

The restaurant was close to our hotel, so we ended up there out of convenience. Turned out to be a lovely little restaurant with great service. It seems that often at the cafes and trattorias, wait staff is just tired of all the tourists and questions in English. They were patient and pleasant at this place, even though I'm sure... More

Food was average for the price. Better value available locally. Service ok - friendly but also ordinary. Location is great - close to Termini and lots of hotels.

Our favourite hotel is two doors up the street so we've been here before, but not very recently. I was pleased to see that the food and service are as good as ever, and the prices very reasonable. I had bruschetta, pasta, side order of delicious chicory, water, and wine for 31 Euros -- very good for Rome! Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I ended up in Rome by accident this trip (accidentally got on the wrong train)... But I will say that the meal at Al Camoscio d'Abruzzo made our little accident a wonderful experience. I have been all over Italy (Milan, Ravenna, Firenze, Calabria and Rome) and this was, without a doubt, the BEST meal I have ever... More

We walked here from our hotel for a late dinner. I had osso buco (which was excellend), my wife had roast lamb, along with a couple of local craft beers. Food was tasty, service was friendly and prompt.

The food is good! Not so cheap but good! The only thing negative was the waitress - we felt like we are not important for her! Not so pleasant!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
