We came across this family-run restaurant by accident. It is in a lovely street with many other restaurants, and we faced the usual dilemma of being in an unfamiliar city for a few days and not really knowing where to choose for dinner. The welcome was fantastic, and the food lived up to all our best expectations. We were travelling... More

On a very lively street, full of restaurants, we found a very crowded place called er Faciolaro, with one empty table. It was an excellent choice. The atmosphere was lively. The house wine was good and inexpensive. Before dinner, we got a small complimentary glass of champaign, and afterwards a shot of limoncello. Service was slow, but we thought our... More

After returning a steak which was inedible they still charged 15.00 which was for 2 bites. Stay away from this place. They are thieves.

My seafood spaghetti dish was lukewarm and barely edible. Since I was hungry I just ate it and did not say anything. My husband ordered a T-bone steak and it was tough. What was so bad is the manager rather than being professional he argued with my husband about it, like my husband was lying. Needless to say do not... More

Enjoyed the food so much we went back the following day. The pastas and pizzas were delicious. The service was outstanding and very attentive as was the sangria.

Right its goes like this. Good service, Good food and welcoming. Last night 26/10/2016 we wandered around looking for somewhere to eat and there are no end of restaurants offering tourists like us food and trying to be accommodating. There was six of us and we had been to restaurants for three days. Some were pleasant enough until you sat... More

I thought this place was going to be expensive and cheesy when we was offered a free glass of champagne as we arrived. But my initial thoughts couldn't have been further from reality. The waiters were wonderful, their knowledge of the menu was perfect. They had just the right amount of banter, bringing in conversation from other tables. I had... More

We didn't read reviews about this restaurant, we just loved the environment and the meniu displayed at the entrance, so we ate there in the day we left Rome. We were impresssed by the hospitality of the staff. They gave us some wine from the house, before we ordered, then limoncelo shots after lunch. We ordered fettuccine con funghi porcini... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
