We arrived from the airport to the hotel and were really hungry, and the hotel staff recommended the Brancaleone a short walk down the road. Not only that the kitchen was still open at 1 AM, but the pizza was very good and the staff very service minded. Also the atmosphere is very nice. Highly recommended!

Don't know if I expect too much from the pizzerias in Italy but here we had one of better pizzas in Rome. In general, I was disappointed - in Czech republic I think we have much better pizza.

This was our 2nd visit here. Staying at a local hotel and they recommended this place our first night. The meal was good, and ambience was great. Came back again and had a fantastic Grilled Pork dish. Service, ambience, music, and food was amazing. It can get busy on weekends so plan ahead.

We loved this local (to our hotel area) restaurant. The food is delicious and very good quality. The service is excellent - I love a restaurant where the entire staff is constantly aware and assisting each other to support the entire restaurant and not just their individual tables. The teamwork is fantastic! Food is fresh and homemade. We had three... More

Last night in Rome. Tired. Needed a restaurant close by. The staff here had helped me with directions so I decided to return the favor. Seated in the front room facing the owner/manager who worked at her computer and paperwork except when greeting guests. Music was 60's American and British pop. Atmosphere is rustic. Bruschetta was charred but tasty. Pasta... More

We walked to this restaurant from the Rose Garden Palace Hotel. We loved it so much we went back the next night. They food and atmosphere seemed like a local favorite. They make their own great wine ( we had two carafes !) and make a different cheese every night. All of our meals were delicious and the service was... More

Based on our hotel's recommendation we had dinner at Brancaleone. It turned out to be a great decision. We had still not adjusted to the later Italian eating time so we got to the restaurant early enough to get a seat before it became too crowded. The server spoke English and helped us choose some great dishes. We all loved... More

Tucked away in the north of the city this restaurant offers great selection of dishes - we chose pizzas which were large but so thin they didn't overload you. House red is superb value to wash it down. Fantastic value for money if this is what you are looking for!

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
