Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent food, wine and service. Very friendly atmosphere 😊 The antipasti were absolutely to die for. We went for the bit pricey solution of mixing three different choises on each plate. In other restaurants they allow you to share. However, we enjoyed every single bite....Mains and desserts were also very nicely done. I had the cacio e pepe - and the homemade pasta was breathtakenly delicious.More

Poor, expensive regular beer, nice pasta but almost without addictional stuff like meat or vegetables, too high price compare to locals around.

This is the archetype of the Italian trattoria. A lot of buzz, whole families with children walking through the restaurant, efficient service, affordable winelist and a very classic kitchen. Nothing for hipsters, stupid influencers and gastronomic connoisseurs. Dishes are among the bestsellers of nonna's kitchen....Nice place to stay.More

The food and service were excellent. It is a family-run, very informal and excellent restaurant. We would go back again. It is way out of the beaten path, which is why most of the customers were Italian

The owners have had this restaurant since 1952 and now their son helps them too. They’re in their current location for the past 13 years. Since their location is not near any of the sightseeing their clients are 95% Italians The food is best we...had in Italy. Everything is fresh and made with the best ingredients. The son was in his forties and spoke English. He explained to us the whole menu and made great suggestions. He gave us free cheese plates and another appetizer just to show us good Roman food. The ambiance is also beautiful and overall was a great experience.More

Can here for dinner with my friend for a quick bite. After 2 hours and chatting to the owner I must say the place is fantastic. Old style restaurant accompanied by typical local cuisine. We were made feel like regulars with tip service. I had...the burrata to start which was delicious followed by the maialino with potatoes and a bottle of Vermentino. I would highly recommend this place as a non tourist, local fine food dining. A must for anyone who enjoys local good quality food in an Italian ambience.More

Do not miss this in Rome! Take a taxi because it is a bit out from il centro. You will be happy you did! The corniglio with truffles is fantastic. The red wine from Marche is a perfect match. The family running this restaurant are...lovely! Book your table. If the restaurant is not full it would be a miracle.More

I want to start by saying that the review by another American should not skew your decision to come here. After reading about this place a few years ago in the NYT, I had it on my 'go to' list. It just so happened that...yesterday I found myself in the neighborhood and decided to give it a shot. To my surprise, there were many tables available and I was seated at once. I want to point out that Romans, like many other big city residents, are not always the most friendly. I was served, but not fawned over. I ordered from the specials menu, and, noting that I was not a native, the wife repeated my order as if to make sure I knew what I was ordering ( I speak Italian). I took no offense and said 'yes'. The food was delicious and very well prepared. Roman food can be underwhelming to some, because it does not use a lot of spices. It focuses on the basic ingredients. I was very happy with my meal. When i went to pay my bill, I mentioned to Roberto that I had read about them in the NYT. This was the first he ever heard of it. Seems a shame, that a newspaper would review a restaurant and not let them know. I'm glad, though, that I knew. Go here, before these people retire.More

Very good quality. The restaurant has a lot of table but it never get too noisy. There's a lot of choice for vegetarians and all dishes are preprared with with fresh ingredients. The place is cozy and the staff is very polite and efficient. I...highly recommend the "anelletti al forno con melanzane", you won't regret it!More

Been there for a business dinner: relaxed ambiance, excellent traditional roman cuisine, at a reasonable price. Most welcome, service was really quick, even when asked for the check. The only shortcoming was a limited choice of dishes, but this was amply repaid by their quality.

It is a charming little restaurant that serves traditional Italian food and a respectable price. Not rushed, neither were you left hanging around.

The food was pretty good but that was all. I went here with my mom on vacation and the staff were incredibly rude. It was our impression that they did not like Americans. We go in and ask for table, there were open tables all...around, and a waitress intially said they couldn’t seat us. We went back and forth as she didn’t speak any english and I only speak a little Italian (only b/c I know Spanish). Finally a manager/ owner came up to us and said that he could only seat us outside. We didn’t mind but found it odd they wouldn’t seat us inside. The waitress came up for our drink order. Natually, I ordered in Italian, trying my best not be a dumb American stereotype. She comes back with drinks and bread. She literally threw the bread down and said condescendingly “prego”. The equivalent of an American server doing the same and saying “you’re welcome” before you have a chance to say thank you. We get our food, finish it and end up spending 45 minutes waiting for the check. We asked two times for it and never got it, both in Italian. We finally just threw down 70 euro and left. Do not eat here if you are tourist. They are rude and the food isn’t worth the headache.More

I was recommended the restaurant from a friend who lives in the neighborhood. When we entered the restaurant we were met by the Riccardo Mancinelli and his father, the eponymous Roberto. Our lunch began with lovely bruschetta with burrata and wilted puntarelle. For our first...course, we had the pacheri with sea bass. The pasta was perfectly cooked and flavorful. For the main course, we opted for the potato crusted sea bass. The fish was excellent and the potatoes provided a great counterpoint. We finished with traditional English trifle. All-in-all, a very good restaurant. We appreciated the friendliness and excellent service.More
