In the middle of the Roman ghetto is this authentic Italian restaurant. What an experience to enter this ghetto at night with all the ruins, but also the vivacity. A Saturdaynight we visited this restaurant: it was full with Italian people and the atmosphere was very nice and we felt part of the real Italian life. We appreciated very much... More

Found it quite by chance, decided to give it a go and were pleasantly pleased. I don't eat onions and our waitress could name every dish that I could eat free of them. I was not made to feel as if I was wasting her time. She was very attentive and made us feel special and welcome. The house red... More

I ate here three times during a one week holiday in Rome. The first time was at lunch, as it's in an ideal spot not far from the Roman Forum (our morning visit) & very close to the Palatine museum (our afternoon visit). Despite being so central it's in a really quiet square - great to relax after the busy... More

Had the fried zucchini flowers with ricotta and seabass spaghetti...no taste of lime and very salty. Also just a few slices of seabass.. that's about it.... Nothing special...

We had a great time in the restaurant, both starters and the meat tasted great and it was more than enough of it. Nice waiters, great project the fellowship is running here.

We were getting to the bickering stage. We had had a busy and tiring morning walking, it was very hot; we were hungry and had found that our favourite restaurant in Rome, despite bangings and clattering from the kitchen and all tables laid outside, was locked, barred and bolted. We had reached that stage when it becomes, “I’m going to... More

Dinner here with my two teen daughters was fantastic! Food was delicious, wine list great - had a nice red from Piedmont, and service was fantastic! All spot-on! Great quiet location. They even called a taxi for us to get back to hotel. Highly recommend. Would definitely come here again when next in Rome!

We came across this taverna in a small street near the Capitoline Museums. Food and service were excellent. We noticed locals there as well. Highly recommended.

Staying in Piazza Venezia / Ancient City

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazza Venezia / Ancient City
If all roads lead to Rome, then they all end here. Piazza Venezia and the Ancient City are the very epicenter of the Eternal City. Within a 360-degree turn, Roman history unrolls in front of you, from its ancient beginnings to its 21st century transformations. Whether it’s those historical playgrounds known as the Roman and Imperial Forums, or the side-street shops, trattorie, and churches, this neighbourhood packs a cultural punch and then some. Screaming scooters, battling buses, crazy cars, and lots of foot traffic converge in the area all day long. By dusk, a different vibe emerges as the neighbourhood quiets down. Don't be surprised if you find yourself passing through the Piazza Venezia at least once a day, since it’s the most direct way to get from one side of town to another.
