Found this great little place having looked for suggestions here on trip advisor and so glad we did. First experience of an Italian trattoria and loved the nice relaxed atmosphere. Service was great, very attentive and the food was yummy too. Ordered pasta and main and have say portions were quite generous compared to other restaurants we'd been to in... More

I loved the atmosphere and the interior was great, the staff was lovely and food was too good! Ever since I got home from Italy I've yearned for that pasta I ate. I'm absolutely going to eat there again if I ever go back to Rome.

We ate here one night. It is 2 minutes walk from the Britannia Hotel, just off the Via Nazionale, in Via Napoli. This is an excellent family run and very traditional Trattoria. The menu is comprehensive and so tasty. We would happily eat there any time. We were not hurried even though the restaurant was busy. Just as a note... More

This place was near out hotel, we found the great rewiews from tripadvisor and thought we hit the jackpot for the first evening. We were so disappointed. Service was good, but the food was below average. For starters we took seafood antipasti, and it was ok, fresh and eatable. But both of the main courses were badly made. Mixed grill... More

This trattoria is almost a well kept secret ! If not for trip advisor would not have identified or located it. We ate in expensive second rate establishments and then found this gem of genuine Utalian Trattoria food. From when we opened the door we knew we were in a genuine trattoria. From the delicious aromas of cooking food, to... More

Have eaten here several times on trips to Rome. Great choice, well cooked and presented, wonderful, friendly service, excellent value for money. Slightly out of the way, yet close to Termini, but popular with locals and tourists alike.

We tried this restaurant on our second night in Rome and then eat there every night throughout the week. Every meal we had was very good and in particular enjoyed the pasta dishes especially the bucatini and the rigatoni boheme. The mixed antipasti was also very good and we had a variety of other main courses. It was busy and... More

It was a really nice little restaurant with a bizarre and fascinating interior. We came here with no reservation on epiphany day and they managed to get us a table. We had a real nice chianti with the meal and started off with a carbonara and clam spaghetti and for mains I had rabbit and the boyf had lasagna. Everything... More

This was a real find. Hubby and I enjoyed a lovely dinner here and loved every single thing we tried. The artichokes are the best I've ever tried!! Oxtail stew and the rabbit as main courses were perfectly done, too. House red was really cheap but tasted great. Don't miss this place!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
