Just like the other reviewers, we were charged for bread...but this was the case at EVERY MEAL we had while in Rome. The prices here were great, about half the cost from around the corner. The staff was very helpful, friendly and social. I'm sure there was a service charge, as there was almost everywhere we ate on our trip.... More

Ate here on our first night after landing, hadn't a chance to read reviews so chanced the first nice looking place we found.. Agree with the other reviews, cheekily charged for bread and huge tax! The food was really lovely though so it's a pity they are greedy with the bill as it's affecting their reviews!

Our experience seem to have been somewhat different to other who have left a write up on this restaurant. We found the food to be excellent the service prompt and courteous the atmosphere what I would expect from a small Italian restaurant although yes there was a television on near the cash point but this was not a problem. The... More

The bill had €4 for bread and €6 for cover added to the bill for two people. The food was poor. This restaurant had no redeeming features! I saw other diners questioning and arguing over their bills! I will never go blindly into a restaurant again. Shame on them!!!!!!!!!

We were advised before went to Rome to "avoid any restaurant where someone is outside trying to get you to come in" and failed to heed it with regard to this place but in our defence our chosen restaurant was fully booked and then it started raining so our guard was down when we chose to eat here following our... Pasta was fine and fairly priced, but they added 12% onto our bill under the guise of TAX. When I complained, the waiter said it was their system. I still argued, but for 6 Euro, just wanted to leave. Plus they charged 4 Euro for stale bread. Apparently it is now illegal in Lazio (of which Rome is part of)... More

Bad service, poor food, service charged and lying about that it's tax and ask for tip. Worst place that I have ever been in my life!

We really enjoyed our meal here, the owner and staff were very friendly. The starter to the entree were all good. I enjoyed the wine but the bill was indecipherable and felt like we paid too much here. It feels like a family place but I believe they are vultures preying on tourists. It's too bad the food was pretty... More

Tourist trap all around. Looks welcoming and homely but once you sit down the service is horrible, the food feels like microwaved hell (we asked for dessert and got something in a plastic can from the supermarket that was still labeled) and to finish off the experience the check was just offensive. They billed us for tap water and bread... More

We had dinner and ordered several dishes to try. It was not bad but it didn't stand out either. They were all pasta dishes and seemed a bit too smothered in butter/oil. Too rich for our taste. We prefer something a bit less oily/buttery and fresh. The veggie appetizer was pretty good but you could totally taste it wasn't cooked... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
