This restaurant was well reviewed in our Rough Guide and via googlemaps so we went there for a special occasion. Unfortunately we were rather disappointed. Whilst the service was excellent, the food was not. Overpriced, overcooked, very oily etc etc. Best food in Rome (according to the reviews)? I hope not! We are not fussy eaters but we left half... Very touristic place, the food was very average, I think all visitors found the reference from the tourist guide. Don't go if you want to stay and eat the local food.

This is a restaurant that shouldn't be missed in Rome. Good food, friendly and fair priced. In comparison to many of the restaurants in Trastevere, this is actually a good restaurant and not a tourist trap.

Homely and cozy, the gricia and the cacio e pepe are really something to drool for! All accompanied by a selection of not overly expensive wines and by a home made panna cotta. In the panorama of Rome's restaurants, still shines

Came here with pregnant partner, waiter couldn't do more to ensure food was well cooked enough for her, and to check we were alright. Rushed off his feet but lovely food of the highest quality. Definitely will return here. A hidden gem.

This review is part of 7 other reviews in Rome October 2016. The reason is simple. All restaurants were similar in 2 ways. The price level were similar. Between 7-15 euro for antipasta (starter). 10-15 euro for primo (pasta), and 15-25 for secondi (meat/fish). Furthermore all restaurants serves traditional Italian food. So by comparing the reviews you can pick out... More

Better take pasta, not beef steak. Beef meat was tough, it definitely not a steak meat. Pasta was OK.

We had to wait to be allowed into our accommodation on arrival in Rome, which was round the corner. We had lunch and two bottles of local white all was great. What a lovely little spot.

Simple restaurant with a limited number of Roman dishes, but delicious. Don't miss the pasta la gricia. We had a rabbit dish that was very tasty. On Thursday's they have a special gnocchi dish, so we are planning to be back then! No credit cards accepted.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
