Not a five because it's not exactly like home but it comes close. Took us 3 attempts to get our coffee served, this was the only fault in an otherwise lovely, casual tratoria

I made a reservation for this restaurant well in advance of the day, and I was looking forward to the inside because I heard so many good things. Instead, my wife and I were seated outside in what basically was an alley. There was zero ambiance. To make matters worse, locals dropped in without reservations, and went inside, and one... More

We went there recently with friends who were visiting. The main dining room is in the ruins of an old theater. We started with warm chicken liver pate served with crusty bread and a cheese spread. The combination of flavors was indescribable. My sole was flavorful and very delicate. It was delicious with a side of spinach. My friend ordered... More

I live in Italy now and have the chance to get to Rome quite often. Every timeIi go I like to get to Hostaria Costanza. The restaurant is breathtaking, located inside a cave like structure. The food is Rroman and always well prepared. Service is friendly yet always professional. On this visit, I noticed two things that are important in... More

Classic Italian cucina with classic service. A popular place with great atmosphere and welcoming host. Green risotto was to die for. Reservations recommended.

The service was professional and friendly. This restaurant is located in the remains of the Theatre of Pompey (ask to be seated in the "Sala vecchia" when you make a reservation. You'll receive plenty of food, but I know there are many better roman trattorias out there. I paid 45 € for antipasto, secondo, half a bottle of wine and... More

This place is somewhat hard to find but well worth the hunt. My wife and I enjoyed dinner here on a cold January night. I had seafood pasta and my wife had grilled sole. My pasta was good but my wife raved about her fish. It was not overcooked but it had just enough crispiness to make it interesting. The... More

We had a fantastic meal here. I had the green risotto and cacia e pepe. The risotto was unlike any I've ever had and was delicious. The service was very friendly and the prices very reasonable.

We revisited this restaurant 7 years prior and it is still our favorite local style food. The atmosphere is so interesting and story of a theater which lies beneath the caved walls. The service is friendly and offer suggestions for their house specialties (definitely fried zucchini and artichoke blossoms), we had Chianti as our wine choice, just perfect with a... More

We went on the recommendation our hotel. The staff was wonderful. Friendly and helpful with recommendations and suggestions. Every dish was absolutely delicious. I was looking for typical Roman fare and was not disappointed. We shared some fantastic pasta with truffles, then my husband had the veal saltimbocca and I had the Roman tripe (a special that night). We shared... More
