We had dinner at Tre Scalini in April, which was the beginning of the busy season. However, we were able to get reservations, but we did call a few weeks in advance, and they checked in with us to confirm a day before our reservations as well. One important note: there are two restaurants next to each other with the... More

Eat here if you want, however, Tre Scalini is a wonderful place to head into, order your espresso or latte from the cashier to drink at the bar. It's about a third of the price you would pay if you sit outside and it's fun to look around. The Italians make their drinks at a tolerable temperature so you can... More

Surprisingly, great gelato is not easy to come by, though there are many places to get gelato. This place, despite being a big tourist trap on the piazza navona, actually has GREAT gelato. It's also been there for hundreds of years.

Last time we were there just for Tartufo. It a must if you are close to Piazza Navona. This time we were there for lunch. Good food, wine, service and lovely watching around.

We were on a one day visit to Rome and during our travels on a bitterly cold afternoon we were attracted by this welcoming restaurant. Despite the cold we dined outside on the terrace with much appreciated heaters beside us.The menu was extensive with all the usual Italian choices, but due to the cold we decided on the tomato soup.... When visiting Rome you must visit Piazza Navona. When visiting Piazza Navona you must try the tortufu at this place. How do they get so much chocolate flavour into the ice cream? Delicious.

Actually it’s a café, gelaterie, restaurant right in front of Piazza Navona. All this vivid crowd that passes or spends time in the square are in front of you. We decided to take a seat and have a sweet and a coffee so we enter the ambience of Navona’s feeling. To our opinion we paid a lot for just a... More

surprise, surprise - the food is delicious: not just tourists eating tartufi but lots of italians chowing down on really good roman food. the service is italian (not insultingly fast like an american diner) , the setting is stupendo, and the prices reasonable for where and what it is. mangia!
