Delicious food, friendly staff. Get an upstairs room or if its warm sit outside to see all the goings on at fiora di campo! We reserved our table for dinner when at the market that day, which was lucky because it was very busy when we arrived. A lovely man came and played guitar. This is where the locals come... More

After checking tripadvisor for restaurants close to our accomodation we found La Carbonara. We did as suggested and got there at opening time 7pm, 30 minutes later the place was packed. The quality of food and service are very high, they also served a very nice wine together with our meal. Not to forget: the music they played was absolutely... More

La Carbonara is one of those excellent places where locals go out to eat (not that you won't rub elbows with many other fellow tourists...) The atmosphere is typical Italian: loud, hot, aromatic, passionate, while the food is quite outstanding. Tried the homemade ravioli with a fresh tomatoes sauce and was plunged into a richness of flavors unexpected from such... More

I can see why people leave bad reviews. The service is extremely slow. We came right when they were opened and was able to snag a seat, being advised that we would have to finish eating by 8:30PM. We were seated at 7:30, and it took a while for us to get a waiter to take our order. There isn't... More

As the name of the restaurant goes... you imagine the alla la carbonara dish would be a favourite... and it absolutely was! My partner and I absolutely loved it, was the best carbonara I've ever had. Staff were friendly and explained the menu thoroughly as it is traditionally in Italian only. Also... recommend the il Grigio red wine from chianti... More

We had such a great dinner here. The whole baked artichoke was to die for. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The carbonara is so good, our waiter helped us with which fresh pasta goes best with each dish, the barman suggested a great bottle of wine and both the service and the food were perfect. After our first meal we reserved straight away for another night. Make sure you reserve!

Arrived in Rome at the end of a 3 week trip of Italy, hoping to finish the trip with a bang. Searched for some local restaurants wanting to avoid the mainstream tourist spots. Read some reviews about La Carbonara and it sounded like the place to go for some great pasta. We arrived at 7.30 and luckily got a table... More
