Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great Value for very large pizzas. You will leave here full. Staff was very kind, they were family friendly, and they aren't too far from the train station.

Fantastic bufalo pizza with great service. The staff accommodated us just before closing and recommended the bufalo pizza as Naples’ special pizza, it didn’t disappoint! Price was very reasonable with a couple of beers.

I can’t lie, the pizza is pretty damn good and a decent serving size! But it comes at a price. I don’t know where to begin with the very hostile angry old men working in the front of house, but I’ll start from the beginning...I suppose. I know it is likely frustrating for local restaurants constantly having to cater to tourists with the language barrier ect, which is why I always make a conscious effort to at least greet the waiter in their mother tongue. When we arrived, I approached the doorman to say good evening and asked for a table for two in Italian. He clearly understood and respond by saying “duo”, which I reply to with “si”. Then there is a communication breakdown. He was asking me for my name (in English now) though I was struggling to hear him due to the loud restaurant. He became quite frustrated at this point and another waiter got involved. With both men aggressively saying “name, name”, I assumed they were asking to check for a reservation (what else?) and I responded with “No, sorry we don’t have a booking” This only escalated their anger. Now yelling at me for my name, I tell them. The original waiter then begrudgingly ushers us to our table…. I’m still not sure why he was so persistent on knowing my name. When it came time to order the original waiter seemed to be quite pushy on selling us the most expensive bottle of wine. When we instead ordered two glasses of another wine he was visibly irritated and without acknowledgment, turned and walked off in a mood. When the pizzas came out they were massive and delicious - the guys in the kitchen know their stuff, it was seriously good pizza! To compliment the great pizza, I asked for some chilli oil (again in Italian, trying to be as respectful as possible) to another waiter who storms off begrudgingly comes back to slam a bottle on the table. When we finished our meal, and barely finished our drinks, the waiter comes up and says “you finished - follow me” Cleary we had over stayed our welcome. I go up and pay, the docket was virtually illegible… I point to what looked like one of Mr Squiggles drawings and ask him “sorry what does this say” At this point I thought I was about to live through the Godfather restaurant scene… Seriously the most hostile dining experience I have ever had. A real shame the service leaves a sour taste in your mouth after delicious food.More

Of course that's only my view, but the amount of locals using this restaurant doesn't lie. We were in Naples for six nights and ate here for four of them. Service is quick but you're not pressurised in anyway to hurry up. The staff are...friendly and helpful. We only ever ordered Diavola pizza's and the quality was excellent every time. Yes you may have to queue to get in but the wait was never too long and always worth it. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed. Rgds Georgio.More

The food is good but this restaurant is run like a factory or school canteen with people queuing up outside and when inside, customers, or better consumers, are being reminded to finish their meal to make room for the next cohort of 'guests'. The owners...forget about basic elements of running a restaurant - that visitors feel welcome, respected and that guests experience authentic and warm-hearted hospitality. I always got a smile from the dinner-ladies at school lunch - here I didn't. Fortunately Napoli has more to offer than this.More

After travelling a few cities in Italy, I was ready to conclude that I like pizza in America better until of course we came here. It was recommended by a colleague who is from Naples. We order too many pizzas for a group of 8...but none of us could stop eating. Their Vesuvius pizzas were the best in my opinion but all pizzas were good. I conclude that Naples has the best pizzas in Italy.More

My girlfriend and I came here because it's fairly close to the Naples Garibaldi train station and the reviews on Google were really good. The first warning sign happened when we came in. Even though there were many free tables, they seated us at a...table with another person which was also against the wall so I had to awkwardly scooch in behind him to get to my seat. It was also clear that they didn't care about us at all; the owner served us with 0 enthusiasm and it seemed like he just wanted to get us out of there ASAP. We ordered the margherita pizza since it's what this place is known for, and the pizza came out pretty quickly and is quite large for its price (it can easily feed 2 people and it's only 6 euros). However, this was the ONLY good thing about this place; the pizza simply seemed unfinished. There was a lot of oil on top of it and the cheese was barely attached to the dough. There were also very few basil leaves on it; it just didn't look like the pictures at all. When we cut it up, the pizza effectively disintegrated. Anyways, we ate as quickly as we could and got out of there; the owner made us pay in cash even though I read in a review that they take card. I saw in a few Google reviews that this place is very rude to non-white, non-Italian customers, and from our experience, it seems like this is true. From looking around as we came in and as we left, the pizzas other customers got looked waaaaay better than ours, and a few of them were also margherita pizzas.More

We came to this pizzeria after watching an Anthony Bourdain episode. They're located away from the center, closer to the Garibaldi station. We went at night on our first evening in the city, so we took a cab from our hotel near the Piazza Municipio...(~8€) since we weren't yet familiar with their public transportation. Our first impression was definitely not a good one as the staff was unfriendly and pretty rude actually, not just to foreigners but also to Italians. The staff didn't even try to speak a bit of English but also wouldn't even work with us when we tried speaking our broken and limited Italian. The pizza was ok, not deserving of any high accolades and definitely not deserving of a segment on a TV show episode. We ordered two pizzas. First we started with the margherita which was ok but the cheese looked like it was almost liquified and bubbling when it arrived at our table. Although the pizzas are pretty large, we still had some room for more food so we decided to go with the buffalina, which is a margherita but with buffalo mozzarella. This second pizza was definitely better, the cheese had more consistency and was more flavorful but we couldn't finish it all, we were stuffed after eating half of it. It seems the add Parmesan cheese to their pizzas as a base which definitely changed the flavors and they were not as good as other pizzas we had elsewhere. Although not outrageously expensive (24€ for two huge pizzas, one beer and a water), this place wasn't worth the cab ride over nor the money. There are better pizzerias in Napoli where you can get a really good pizza for a fraction of the cost and much better service.More

Staying round the corner at the grand Europa hotel. Checked out this place last night. Gave our name and hung around for the inevitable wait which is part of the experience I suppose. Waiter outside served us large peroni beers for 2 euros and gave...my youngest a free pastry which he was ecstatic about. Sat down after about 40 mins wait. 3 margheritas and 2 diavolas between the 5 of us. Tried the diavola and thought it slightly salty but the 3 of us who had the margheritas couldn't believe how good they were. 6 euros and massive. Absolutely divine tomato sauce which I'm sure I could drink it was that refreshing. Bottle of local wine was 18 euros and that was fantastic too. Would highly recommend but don't go with airs and grace's, and be prepared to wait. The taste is worth it!More
