Came in just randomly as we were walking the streets of Salerno looking for a place to have lunch. We had the special pasta dish of the day and gnocchi. It was OK but nothing more than that. Not something you would expect when you go to eat pasta in Italy. Service was good though. O guess you can find... More

This restaurant is well located in Salerno opposite the beach. The prices are very reasonable; €3.50 for a pizza, €6 for a pasta and €3 for half a litre of house wine (very nice tasting). The food was authentic delicious tasting Italian food. The waiter names Gorgio was very nice and attentive to our needs. We wanted to go there... More

We went on our first night encouraged by the waiter who approached us when we were looking at the menu. Sat in covered area outside which quickly filled up. A mixed vegetable anti pasti was recommended and the potatoes were the stand out item. Clams and sausage main courses were fine accompanied by a green salad. It was often difficult... More

This is one of the very few places in Italy where we've actually experienced mediocre grub (a pizza and a pasta dish). The waiter was nice enough, but the owner is a sarcastic type who thinks no tourist speaks Italian and he can make any disparaging comments he wants (unfortunately, we do speak Italian). The place doesn't take any credit... More

Had lunch and dinner today here. Lunch: pizza provola e rucola; dinner cavatelli con totani. It is a very good place (and I am Italian, so I know what I am talking about)- pizza for 2, bottle of wine and half litre of house wine 18 EUR total; dinner with a shared antipasto, drinks as above, two seafood pastas and... Trattoria Zi Renate was recommended to us by our host and we are glad we took his advice. The food and accompanying wine were excellent and at a very reasonable price. We went back two nights later and the waiter remembered us (probably because we don't speak Italian) and we had great fun trying out the basic Italian that we... More

We really wanted a no fuss pizza, glad we came here. Place next door really full and this one was quiet. The menus are a bit tatty and need renewing but don't let them put you off. We had the quatro stagionne and capriciossa pizzas. They were a decent size and we really enjoyed these great pizzas. Also had a... More

You should think :i am so near to Napels, where the pizza was born, so here, they must know all about pizzas , and you see only pizzerias all over town, well No! They don't know how to make a ggod pizza! It was uneatable! Try every where else! It can not be worse!

My wife and I have just returned from a week in Salerno, she runs an Italian Restaurant in Winchester, so eating out, can be interesting to say the least ! We were looking for somewhere to eat on the Wednesday night and hit the Restaurant Mile, they are all next to each other, we narrowed the choice down to three,... More

Went on a whim despite this place being nearly empty one night next door to another restaurant that was heaving! Nice host welcomed us and on noticing we are English did his best to explain and recommend the menu. Lovely seafood starter ( huge portion!) and home- made gnocchi. But the best bit was the ( also home made) tiramisu.... More
