The Pasticceria Andrea Pansa, founded in 1830, is just a few meters away from the stairs leading to the Duomo. When we entered, we saw a nice, large pastry shop with stylish XIX. century furniture. It was full of customers, but despite the crowd, the...staff, in neat uniforms was very helpful, polite and efficient. We got a table for two further back in the pastry shop and ordered the famous Delizia di Limone and Limoncello! Everything was delightful and we were more than satisfied!More

Rude

Pastries are nice, shame about the service and atmosphere. Staff are rude and aloof, ignored us, barely said a word through service and made us feel unwelcome.More

A visit here is a must!

The most delicious, dainty pastries I’ve ever eaten. Sit outside with a coffee and pastry enjoying the view of the main square.

Amazing pastries

A pastry that’s as light as a cloud. A cappuccino that’s as smooth as velvet. And the bustling Piazza Duomo. What else ? May be the waiter could have been a tad friendlier. He did not say a single word during the whole service. But...we come from Paris so we are not easily offended by grumpy waiters ;)More

The suggestion to taste the "delizia al limone" proved to be invaluable.

After a splendid but tiring trekking to the Valle delle Ferriere and other visits to the Amalfi attractions, our tour leader proposed us to enter the "Pansa" pastry bar to taste the confectionery specialty of the Amalfi Coast, the "delizia al limone" ( lemon delight)....She added that two bars all over the Amalfi Coast fight for the primacy over the excellence in preparing this dessert: the Pansa pastry and the "Sal De Riso" pastry in Maiori. The experience was positive: the dessert was sublime. It is a cup of sponge cake, moistened with a lemon-based syrup, stuffed with Chantilly cream and covered with a lemon-based cream icing. The experience was sublime, we all thanked our tour leader for the tip. Tip that in turn I forward to the TA community.More

Busy pastry shop

What a choice! This place is busy! We opted for takeaway as there was no tables free. Lots of delicious pastries to choose from plus candied lemon and orange peel. Even brought some candied peel to take home with me. A definite place to stop...by atMore

Very good breakfast

Hello, I'm planning a trip to Amalfi coast next June, and I was wondering if anyone can recommend good cafe for coffee? We are staying in Atrani, but will be visiting town of Amalfi frequently. Do the sell coffee to go there in paper cups? What are the average prices for a say 12 oz cappuccino? Thanks in advance! Also a good place for gelato? Grazie!

Hi, they are definitely not into paper cups to go in Italy, it is not their way. Sit down, relax and enjoy a cappuccino and a Sfogliatella in Pansa, a bit expensive but worth it. Capri, Vesuvius, Pompeii and Herculaneum all... More
