Emanuele has created a space that is intimate and comfortable. He presents beautiful plates of local cheeses and meats and matches them perfectly with wines from the region. It was difficult to stop eating! And the cookies to finish the meal - yum! This has to be on your list of places not to be missed when you visit Matera!

This was on the top of my list of local places to try while visiting Matera. So glad we tried it. Has a nice relaxed friendly atmosphere with many locals. Has both indoor and nice outdoor seating. Although there was a language issue, our young waiter tried really hard to guide us. We shared a platter of local cheeses and... More

on the advice of Matera, we stayed in this small restaurant, which seen from the outside is absolutely beautiful, and we let ourselves be charmed by Lucan products, what we saw is almost all meat and vegetables, the wine of the region, but in the end ?? flavors disappointed very disappointed by a beggar sausage, is nothing but a sausage... We ordered a tasting for one, to share, and then one portion of local “black pork” sausage and some vegetables. The tasting was of several cheeses. The platter had small slices of goat cheese, one flavored with fennel seeds, one with saffron, one with red wine and one with orange. In the center was a powerful slice of pecorino. There... More

A good location tucked down an alleyway with indoor & outdoor seating, friendly staff & the place to come if you want to try locally sourced cheese, meat & wine. It's not the cheapest place you will find but the portions are generous & the mixed cheese & meat starting plate is a meal itself.

We remember the Latteria before its reincarnation as a restaurant. It's still a charming source of good quality cured meat and cheese, but on out last visit to buy a selection for a lunch we were disappointed with the very high final cost. Not helped by the fact that the individual items had no visible prices per kg, we went... More

We lucked upon this little local latteria. From the outside it is a latteria- a shop with cheese and delicatessen, however there are tables inside and local delicacies. we shared a board of local cheeses and meats and olives. well priced, great food and friendly service. it is just around the corner from the Palazzo LanFranchi . great for local... Cheeses and meats that will be the highlight of your trip. The most amazing ricotta with fig balsamic and Mozzarella with cream - all made by the shop. Absolutely, the best I have ever had.

Our group ate a dinner here one night. First course was orechietti with mushrooms and tomato sauce, then a fantastic selection of cheese and salumi (mortadella, soppressata, pancetta, etc.) with the local bread, ending with biscotti and moscato. Other than the dearth of salad in our menu, it was all very good.
