We loved the service and the atmosphere. It was a bit pricey, but the prix fix menu was great value and I feel sorry for not chosing it! We loved the tagliatelle and the deserts! They were lovely to the 2-year-old miss of the company and provided her with markers and sketching books!

We visited for lunch back in November 2016 and it was very good indeed. In particular the service standards and knowledge of the staff was stellar. We returned yesterday and as specified this was no flash in the pan. This time the eating experience was even better with stunning food wine and service. Every element of the service was exceptional... More

The Red Lion is a short drive from home but this was our first visit. Mid-January and in need of being cheered up, we were so pleased we'd made the effort. The prix fixe menu is a great way to experience Michelin star food. The chicken liver pate was delicious as was the tagliatelle. In fact we tried all 6... More

My wife and I visited the Red Lion Freehouse after a self-guided morning tour of Stonehenge. This was my first day ever driving on the left side of the road, we were visiting from America, and the drive to this pub/B&B was some of the most fun I've ever had behind the wheel of a car. The road there takes... More

We arrived for lunch on 29 December, seven of us for my elder daughter's birthday. It was perfect and wonderful. So good in fact we won't now go anywhere else to eat out. We live 15 minutes away in Bottlesford. The food was sublime. I am 65 and I can honestly say the cep soup is possibly the best thing... More

We stopped here on our way through the county. We hadn't booked but we're lucky enough to get a table after a twenty minute wait- this wasn't hassle as we enjoyed a drink at the bar. I had smoked salmon and my husband pate, with Chateaubriand to share followed by caramelised pear and chocolate brownie by my husband. The salmon... More

Michelin starred and proved to be through the quality of food. Slightly pricier than the average pub but same welcome. Had the chateau briand, guinea fowl, hot chocolate, dessert platter, chicken liver pate, scotch egg and Creme brûlée. Will return if back in the area!

Our son booked for us to have lunch here on Christmas Eve. The pub itself is gorgeous and we had a lovely log fire burning in the grate. The service was exemplary. Very friendly but also professional. It's Michelin starred so it's pricey but the food was superb. For a special meal it's a great choice.

We had our wedding reception at the Red Lion with 21 guests in attendance. We had wished for a relaxed evening with our family and friends. From our first visit to our evening meal we found all the staff to be exceptionally helpful, accommodating and polite. Brittany Manning who runs the establishment with her husband ensured that everything was organised... More

Booked only the week before but very lucky to get a table in the restaurant as was very busy by the time we left. We were booked in for 12, but liked up quickly. Food was amazing, Pâté to start followed by the best belly pork I have ever tasted! The chocolate brownie to finish again was one of the... More
