This cafe is located in the square so you have a nice view of people walking by. However, the service was shocking. People working there clearly don't like working there and we watched our waiter treat most people with disdain. Quite a number of people left because they couldn't get served. Inside had what looked like bus loads of tourists.... More

Plaza Castillo is the center of Pamplona and this café is the biggest of the cafés where you can sit and people watch. Food was unremarkable.

I was here for part of Semana del Pinchos. Just a lucky break. I had the best pinchos I have ever had in my life in this place. This is an amazing and historic cafe . It is unbelievable the value of the food as well. You could never get this in the US. This is a not to miss... More

Grand and historic cafe which is a must visit when in the square. Great value with the impression that in the height of the season it will be full very quickly from 7pm . A cool and spacious and even vacuos internal bar with tables and a great selection of regional sandwiches and dishes.

I don't normally go into detail, a few headlines are sufficient, but this place needs a full review. We walked around the beautiful main square in Pamplona looking for somewhere to eat, as so many do, and saw a full menu outside this restaurant at a very attractive €14.50 per person including wine. Lots of choice and we could see... More

Our group stopped here for coffee and "pintxos" (tapas). We walked the route of the "running of the bulls" and visited the bar where Hemingway held sway! If one eats outside in the court yard, one will endure the ever-present cigarette smoke.

There's Hemingway history to this restaurant, and that's why you'll go. But the service is a bit stale, and the food is somewhat average. Regardless, to some, it might be worth the hassle just to get a taste of the Hemingway story.

A coffee became a wine and then became a night out. Great atmosphere and the tune of people's voices adds to the surroundings that are spacious and inviting. Staff attentitive and strangers say hello. And there is the odd occasion when people burst into song...and it's normal. Sorry the night ended as a grounding day experience would have been appreciated.... More

This a must see place in Pamplona, reportedly the watering hole of Hemingway and his cronies so I expected it to be touristy. In fact when we went on a Tuesday in late April it wasn't busy and we had very prompt service, we had delicious coffee and cake there in the afternoon so returned in the evening. This time... More

What a great little cafe! Loved the atmosphere in here-terrific tapas menu, coffee & tea. Well worth a visit, if in Pamplona.
