This place was highly recommended by a local - for top quality paella that beats all the tourist haunts. I also had the best octopus I have ever had in Spain - would go back just for that. It is a really nice, relaxed restaurant for quality food.

This place was suggested by a local for the best paella in Madrid. We went there and we tried a sea food paella and it was delicious.

The staff was exceptional in this 1980's furnished restaurant. I was referred to it and am super happy for the experience. The wine was delicious and the Paella was the best I ever had (no I have never been to Valencia). Only flaw was it was more expensive than I expected but that's not a complaint. I'd gladly pay it... We visited here for a business/social dinner. The place was selected by our host to be convenient to our accommodations in the Arguelles area. We were very pleased with the setting and the service. Our host selected two of the seafood paellas so we could taste a comparison along with some shellfish and jamon as appetizers. All were very well... More

Noted for Paella, but it wasn’t really that good and only tourists in there. Was recommended by a friend, but maybe we just had an off night. I woudn't recommend it.

I should start by saying dumb me who thought I would find a perfect Paella in Madrid, but anyway, followed the internet advices in the Best Paella in Madrid as Casa de Valencia. The attention is good, I'lll give that to the restaurant, but the Paella is far far far away from being good - it lack flavor, passion, taste,... More

Fantastic Paella. Perfectly cooked and served quickly to keep it warm. Special Cod appitizer really good as well. Dried fruit and sweet wine free desert a unique finish. Maticulous service. Highly recommended experience-especially on a Sunday afternoon when the locals traditionally dine for Paella.

Lunch here today after the Prado. It was a pleasant surprise getting out of the taxi in front to look across the street into Parque de la Montana and see the very fountain that we'd seen two hours before in Velazquez's portrait of Queen Isabel in Prado sala 12. The restaurant is located in a residential, treed, well-heeled neighborhood north... More

We have read reviews about this restaurant and when we asked the hotel about a good restaurant that served excellent Paellas, they recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. We ordered “Paella Marinera” and the food was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was good and the impeccable service of Raudy who made our dining experience fantastic. We did not... More

Staying in Arguelles

Neighbourhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.
