You must listen to chef. He brings you best of his kitchen. As a starter we had Asparagus and it was great. For Main plate I order 🎏 (bacalao) it was fresh, delicious but without sal. For dessert I had eggflan. I did not like it because taste of egg was too much. We did drink wine of the🏠 and... More

A typical Madrid (fine) neighborhood place: tapas bar in the entrance and a hidden dining room in the back filled only with locals. Known for years to have Madrid's best home-smoked salmon, the main dishes change every day. We had fresh small artichokes, cod, suckling pig and sole. Fantastic friendly service, reasonable prices and grea twines. Not to be missed,... More

You do not need a menu to have a great culinary experience... no, you need fresh, well chosen, top quality, FRESH ingredients and a masterful Chef, and I found out to be true that this place has them all. Try the Merluza.... any way you like it !

It's always a challenge when one doesn't speak the local language well, but no need to panic. I'm not even sure there was a menu. The chef came out and we sort of worked out I was having the fish: a whole cooked Sole. Amazing asparagus for starters. Delicious, healthy, substantial servings. Mature and attentive staff.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
