Dinner ok and food nice and very tasty, but very small portions. Salmon tower good as usual, salmon carpaccio with peanut sauce really good and a very good sushi. The dessert made of a jelly rice filled with tea ice cream had a surprisingly texture, the ice cream quite good. Nice atmosphere and decoration, small restaurant and attentive service. Good... More

I was recommended minabo for dinner and I must say I was disappointed with the quality of the food. Waiters and chefs were really nice and accommodating however the food did not meet expectations... We were recommended a calamar with coconut milk that tasted a bit funny and we did not eat it. California rolls were not fresh and the... More

When Minabo first opened, it was about 10 years ago and I lived a few blocks away. It was exciting to have a Japanese fusion restaurant within walking distance. On a recent visit back to Madrid, we went back to check it out. Not much has changed, even the menu items. We picked our old favorites which were still as... More

I was pleasantly surprised by dinner here. Food was creative and often quite original, we had five dishes and all were excellent. Service was very attentive and extremely fast - we never waited more tham 5 or 10 minutes. The actual space is OK, nothing exciting, you come for the great food.

Appetizers and tuna carpaccio was superb. The Makis we just ok for my taste. It's small, and has a nice atmosphere.

True that the name is funny. The place is actually kind of cozy and makes you feel confotable, but then the food is not as good as it could be and the price is way to high for what it's worth. If prize was lower, I would change my thoughts.

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
