Came for lunch on a Saturday with a Dakota gift cheque. Lunch was great, service warm and the environment cosy.

The restaurant is well-located, nicely decorated and has a good atmospehere. Service is fast and friendly. But the most important thing did not meet my expectations: food. First, they have an only type of bread (white bread made of refined grain). This is not terrible as it is unfortunately common in most Spanish restauranta. The worst thing is that under... More

Our guide took our small group of 14 here for our celebration farewell dinner. Certainly not a place you would find on your own. It's a lovely arty restaurant with local colourful paintings everywhere. The staff although friendly seemed a little disorganised with our orders, bringing out my main before my husband's entree, missing our wine order, mixing up dishes... More

We like to walk the back alleys to find "those" places. This is one of those. Not perfect but very good. Our favorite dish tonight was the salmon ceviche. The staff was kind and helpful. The Prawns, We're just small shrimp. Not what I was expecting. But still well prepared.

Went with mates for food. Food is great . Looks good, taste good. Only problem was service was a bit slow, having said that,it was full but an extra waiter could have helped to get drinks quicker.

This is a restaurant I went to in 2008 on my first visit to Madrid. I found the food to be so good and the service great that we came back the following day. Over the years, I have returned and had good experience. It has become a little tradition for me to come back. Today, Jan 21, 2016 went... More

We had booked a table for four for Thanksgiving dinner November´15. The quality of the food was extremely low - you dont need to be American to apreciate the quality of turkey and its complements - and both the soup and the dessert were completely standard for a daily menu´s restaurant of 10eu. The funny thing is that, considering one... More

This is a great place to eat, not fine dining but still the food was really good. I can't remember if there was a special like, get 3 tapas for X euros but we ended up getting three tapas and a drink each and it was very affordable. The service was good, the waiter gave us suggestions for places to... More

We luckily found this restaurant on our first evening in Madrid. The welcome was warm & the service continued to be excellent throughout the meal. The presentation & food was superb & there was a great choice of traditional dishes on the menu. We were even presented with a complimentary bottle of bubbles at the end of the meal. This... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
