Most Michelin stars awarded outside of France, and including some 3 stars within the tourist areas in Paris, are awarded with poor judgement. It is true again with this restaurant. Their classical French dishes were tasteless, and the sauces flat. The cuts of meat were of low quality. Even the 'molecular cuisine, the silly new cooking trend, or more correctly... More

I have a hard time believing anyone could have eaten here and given it less than a 5 star review. This was probably the best meal I have ever had in my life. We had the taster's menu and every dish blew me away with the creativity, presentation, and taste. One note, they do require a jacket for gentlemen- although... More

My fiance and I have eaten at more than a few michelin star eateries from 1-3 stars and La Terraza should hopefully get their third this or next year. The service was outstanding and the food was surprising in the best ways. Although I recognized some dishes from other michelin star Spanish restaurants (like the liquid olive) others were a... For starters, they require a jacket, which practically no place requires anymore. We were the only ones there yet the wait between dishes was quite significant as was the wait for the removal of dishes once we had eaten. They levy a charge of 5€ per person for four thin slices of mediocre bread, no butter or olive oil, and... More

If You want to try a refreshing take om nouvelle cuisine in a splendid sourrounding this is the place to go: an endless stream on many exotic dishes are served and if your waiter is Michael you will enjoy a very professional yet relaxed and charming service. A huge wine list accompanies the wonderful dinner.

When we heard that there was a restaurant in Madrid with a menu designed by Ferran Adria we had to make a reservation- and am i glad we did! The decor itself deserves a michelin star, so immaculate! To be honest I wasn't the biggest fan of the Kellogg's Paela (maybe because it was so hyped up) but the rest of... More

We didn't imagine that we can make reservation before 3 days to have a lunch there. But finally we've got this restaurant. They have 2 Michelin stars and you can see both Michelin's men dolls inside restaurant. I felt myself not good this day that's why we ordered only some dishes from a la carte menu. They have 3 options... More

We ended our visit to Spain with a great meal at La Terrazza, an elegant restaurant located on the top floor of the "Casino de Madrid" (this is not an actual casino). We happen to dine on the same night as the Casino was hosting a wedding reception -so the evening was made more glamourous by the sight of many... More

We have benn traveling throughout Spain and Portugal and have eaten at several Michelin two star restaurants. This by far was the worst. Food was creative but tasteless, one of the courses was disgusting and there were tiny bones in my "rooster" entee. I almost cracked my tooth on it and when I politely mentioned it to the waiter, he... More

For balmy Madrid evenings, the Casino offers an exceptional atmosphere surrounded by the most historical buildings on Calle Alcala.Since 1988, the rooftop restaurant, La Terraza del Casino, two Michelin Stars and three Repsol Suns, directed by Paco Roncero and advised by Ferran Adria, now rates among the most innovate players on Madrid gastronomic stage. Fine dining is one of the most surprising locations the Casino de Madrid has to offer.Discover Madrid skyline from amidst the historic buildings that surround the Casino: they provide the backdrop for your meal. Haute cuisine for clients in search of originality, creativity and the chance to enjoy a new culinary experience.Furthermore, in the refurbishment, Jaime Hayon has created a design conceived specifically to envelop dinners in the same groundbreaking, avant-garde feel that Paco Roncero achieves with the textures, colours and flavours of his dishes.

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
