This restaurant was close to our hotel and thank goodness it was as our hotel did not have a restaurant or bar. We stayed in Madrid for 4 days (it rained the whole time) and dined here for 3 of the nights. The food was different from a lot of restaurants. It did special spiced sauces with the food served... On a recent visit to see my nephew in Madrid we visited here for dinner. The place was buzzing and with no reservation we were lucky to get in. The table was squashed into a corner and we felt like we were sitting with 2 other families!! I had entrecôte and it was nice but not amazing. Service was slow... More

The Goat Cheese with carmelized onion starter is the best we have ever had. Both enjoyed the Duck magret - perfectly prepared with a nice and affordable wine list.

I can highly recommend this busy restaurant. The food is delicious (try the beef carpaccio with pesto!), portions are big and the prices are really low (2 starters, 2main courses and bottle of wine for only 46€!!). The best restaurant in Madrid so far

Nice atmosphere, drinks and service. Terrible food, in particular the shrimp spaghetti which had soggy shrimps and pretty much no seasoning disgusting (even plain pasta would have been better!). The other food was mostly poor as well, the tuna steak was meant to be served with rosemary but just came drowned in soy sauce. Very disappointing and the place is... More

The sirloin steak was inedible, spaghetti shrimp pasta highly bland and risotto was ok. Not a place I would recommend at all.

Went for lunch with my daughter, hadn't researched it, just came across the restaurant while shopping. Had a fabulous two course lunch with wine. Decor is lovely and food also, without being expensive. Will be back before we leave Madrid.

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
