We had dinner here a few times while we were visiting Madrid. The restaurant was exceptional, not only because every meal we enjoyed was flavorful, but also because the servers here are just wonderful and have great memories it seems. Please give our thanks to Alejandro Hornos and others. We had a great vacation, and you and your staff helped... More

This place is very near Plaza Mayor. When in Spain, you must order the paella - and 2 kinds we did- the seafood paella and the negra. Both delicious. But of course you start with a plate of jamon iberico and a liter of sangria. The kids loved the albondigas (that's meatballs to us). Staff is friendly. And to top... More

El lugar es super acogedor y la comida es EXCELENTE. Tras pasar varios días en el Viejo Continente, es bueno tener donde comer comida en serio. El servicio es FABULOSO. Los mozos son un 10. Lo recomiendo. The place is super cozy and the food is EXCELLENT! After having spent several days wandering around the Old Continent, it's great to... More

Is a place near plaza mayor that offer a " menu". The quality is standard, and the price shown looks attractive. Pay attention..small quantities, and you have add the tva. Aon , finally is expensive!!! Dont drink any beer, any other coffee, your wallet will become empty.. Expensive, standard restaurant.. look for another!!

We stumbled here for a late lunch and caught the tail end of the "daily lunch menu". It was realtivly good and the staff was very attentive. It was 10.50€ for an appetizer, main dish and 1 drink. It was an extra 10% to sit outside. Kind of weird, but maybe it's a common thing in Madrid. The picture shows... More

Excellent service from young staff, good rustic kitchen serving Spanish classics, like oxtail and pig cheeks. Very tasty, especially considering the size of the kitchen. Very good atmosphere..

Nice location, but unfortunately VERY disappointing selections of food and drinks. Adding the fact that the prices are VERY high, the verdict is what it is.

We just dropped in accidentally to this place. Could not make our choice (5 of us wanted to have 10 different meals). Finally we followed the waiter advise which turned the best option for us! I have to admit we have received one of more best tapas in Spain! Cava, Muscles, cheese brie with jam canberries were just perfect!

We visited this place thanks to Nico and Adrian, and we spent nice time there. I can tell that we need workers like them, so guys if you are reading this...you will easily find a job in Split/Croatia ;)

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
