My wife and I came in for breakfast. We tried a croissant each. Mine was chocolate which was literally a croissant covered in a thick layer of crisp very dark chocolate and stuffed with another chocolate bar for good measure. The coffee in here is great too. This place is very popular with locals. Expect to pay less than 5... More

Got a tiramisu cake and a chai latte, chai latte was average, it is really hard to find good bakeries in Madrid unlike in Paris. So for tarts this is the place to go, also if you miss French patisserie like I did, it was obviously not as good but still better than most other places in Madrid. Nice and... More

I only purchased what is in picture. Considering that other places charge the same, this is far superior. In fact, it's excellent quality and I'll certainly return.

Ever since I moved to Madrid, lots of friends have told me about Mamá Framboise and today, I decided to get in and have breakfast. I chose the raspberry croissant and it was delicious. Looking at the counter you would probably want to try every single kind of cakes though. Decor is nice and rustic, and it's crowded - now... More

Overrated. 16 Euro for two cups of coffee, small Raspberry tartlet and 4 macaroons seems overly expensive and the service is poor.

This is probably one of the best cake places I've been in terms of food quality, but I don't care much for the service. So I had to give it an average rating. It wasn't extremely busy when we were there and we were allocated a waiter who couldn't care less for us (tourist) and would rather serve the locals.... More

Mama framboise was very close to our hotel so we had breakfast there couple of times. Desserts were amazing , we tried almost all of them . Staff is friendly and speaking English. Quiches and croissants are also delicious. Loved everything about this spot. Mostly locals hang out there. A must try!

We visited here for breakfast, which was okay but nothing special. They had run out of butter croissants and it was only 10:00!! However, the cakes that are available looked quite nice but we did not try as it was too early in the day.

Thank David P

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
