We stayed at Preciados Hotel, so we just had to try this nice looking restaurant that is really close by... We were seated on the 2nd floor, from what we see inside u could tell that it's a really fancy restaurant... We ordered paella that 2 of us shared... It was really good paella! It was a bit pricey, we... More

Very nice restaurant, but not for the faint of heart when it comes to prices. They do not have an English language menu, so helpful to know what you're reading and don't let the waiter mak suggestions for you, lol. We spent €80 on lunch for two people including only 1 glass of wine.

Eating in Madrid at Christmas is always a treat. Tres Encinas is a classic Madrid fish restaurant and we were not disappointed. Excellent fish soup, shellfish and paella and good wine. The service and ambience were faultless. We will certainly go again.

This was an excellent place to eat, paella was everything you would want it to be and the wine selection was great. VERY expensive (around £150 for two with two bottles of wine) The main waiter was really nice and accommodating when we asked for a hour delay between our starter and main. However another waiter was getting very impatient... More

I had a glass of red house wine and the house special cod filet stuffed with king shrimp. It was delicious with flavorful tomato based sauce, tasty but not at all over powering. The arborio rice on the side was cooked el Dante. This restaurant was the recommendation of hotel vincci Capitol front desk. I have to confess my love... More

I really liked this place. The owner or manager was very attentive and knows all about wine. The paella was fantastic. A place to go.

Salmon cooked to perfection with potato and vegetables and my sister thought her duck was great. Reasonably priced, good service.

Hotel staff suggested this restaurant to me, so I decided to give them a chance despite bad reviews I read on TripAdvisor. Bad choice, standard quality, over priced, and client attention poor 8as I was alone and not aged as other customers, they decided to take note of my order not paying attentione to me, talking with other waiters.

Don't go there....poor service, food and over priced. So many lovely restaurants in Madrid that I don't know how they survive.

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
