In the Urban Hotel, this is a nice spot for a gin and tonic. We had complementary chips, good choices of gin, and a decent Spanish white wine. The cheese plate was pricey and surprisingly filling. We ended with complementary little chocolates. The only odd thing was that the fever tree tonic in the first drink had no fizz or... More

Splendid place. Excellent for gin tonic after diner. Offering good selection of gins and cocktails, bar staff very friendly. Not a cheap place *gin tonic around 16 Euro), but worth to come for one or two rounds

Although in a hotel this bar doesn't feel like it, it has a modern vibe with ambient floor lighting. Well run by knowledgable helpful staff.

Within the Urban hotel, probably one of the hot spots in madrid. Excellent range of champagne, nice selection of canpes. Very very friendly and knowlegable staff. The entire ambiance was so amazing the we will probably stay at the urban the next time.

Stayed in the Hotel and used the bar. Fantastic service. Provided with snacks whilst drinking including sushi, popcorn and crisps. Had champagne which was divine and husband enjoyed the Gin menu. Decor was contemporary and lighting and furniture were stunning. Worth seeking out for a special occasion.

Small wine bar located in the Urban Hotel Madrid, offering a very good selection of drinks, a very good service and some very tasty Tapas and finger food. Seems to be popular with the locals and hotel guests, and price wise is what one would expect of a 5-Star hotel.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
