Best sushi I have ever had. Great service and ambiance. Is expensive though, but wow! I was accompanied by a friend who never had sushi, he loved it as well. Visited in April 2014.

Excellent sushi, which isn't always easy to find in Madrid. Dark slightly trendy place best for an evening.

I'm a big fan of sushi and sashimi. I had it in so many places in Europe, this was one of the best. I really like the sashimi plate. The staff was also nice and knowledgeable. Thumbs up. I'll be back.

Interesting restaurant near el retiro. Small place, cozy seating and not too noisy. Best plan if not looking for a private talk is to seat at the front bar table and watch the peruvian cook prepare his best suggestions in front of you. This is a peruvian japanese cook and you will taste some fusión cooking, th best you can... More

Just got back from a trip to Madrid. We were kind of sick of Spanish food so we asked our concierge for a sushi suggestion - which is not easy in August when many restaruants were closed. So glad he suggested Shikku! First, the decor and ambiance were very cool. But the food was fantastic. They did have an English... More

Beautiful sushi, both non-traditional and traditional, wonderful wine recommendations and great service. Make a reservation, however, otherwise you might sit in the bar.

I have lost count of how many times we have been to this restaurant. It´s hard to agree to go to another sushi restaurant when we know how much we like the food here. Service is always good. Sit at the sushi bar for entertainment whilst you eat, watching the chefs prepare the sushi and sashimi. Love the Black Cod,... More

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
