We were there for lunch. They had our of carte menu. Tried 2 or 3 of them. Average. Not creative and not that tasty. And to top that ... the waiter he an arrogant attitude when we asked about their cellar. It's a no go.

Went in for lunch only as it had started to rain. Modern Spanish cooking. Delighted with choice. Fantastic range of wine but good house. Went in early (2pm) and thought bit up market so not very popular. Forgot we were in Madrid. Full up with locals including businessmen having the table d'hotel solo by three. They have poor english so... More

Came here with my family. Due to specific food requirement of one in the group, tried to obtain clarification on some of the dishes. The waitress seemed to be annoyed for me asking about 3 or 4 dishes. We finally ordered the main dishes and she offered we should order starters as the food would take long. I was selecting... More

This restaurant was recommended by the guide for our tapas tour the evening before. This is a small restaurant, and we really liked the menu, ambiance and wine cellar. However we were disappointed at the service. Our server was not very helpful - in fact she was a bit rude.

I've been a regular at this restaurant since August 2015. The menu is a perfect example of Spanish nueva cocina: traditional Spanish flavors lightened up, recombined, and internationalized. There are fixtures I find myself returning for again and again: the ojos de dragón (duck and ham embedded in a the perfectly cooked mound of rice on a light curry sauce),... More

This restaurant was recommended by Arturo of Accessible Madrid. Were were 10 people and had a fabulous dinner. The Dragon Eye, scallop appetizer, steak, fish, everything was great. The chocolate cake dessert was wonderful. And the service was very attentive.

One of the best in Madrid. Unpretentious, great atmosphere, great food and fantastic wine selection. Trust the waiter for the wine recommendation. The prices are also reasonable. I will try to go back again for sure.

Only three words needed: excellent, excellent excellent. We had the place almost for our selves, due to a football match. Friendly staff and great food and wine.

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
