Once I found this place, I had dinner there daily. For such a small place, the menu was incredibly varied. The food was very good, service very quick and friendly. The place was kept spotless. All in all, very enjoyable.

The meals are perfect and always fresh! We requested our dishes and had got all our meals not later than in 10 minutes. We visited that restaurant twice and both times servise was the same. We can reccomend for all tourists focused for not waisting time in Madrid.

This is a nice little restaurant just off Gran Via. The waiters spoke very little English at all but we managed to get by! The food was very nice and plentiful. We had tapas and ordered 6 plates between us but there was way too much food for lunchtime! It was a little bit pricey though and we felt a... More

Was a short walk from our hotel just off the Gran Via in the centre of Madrid. Little jamon bar with plenty of seating at the back. Good mix of authentic rustic Spanish food. We had a tapas selection including freshly fried fish, patatas in garlic mayonaise, whitebait, and signature dish of smoked ham and cheese. Waiters english was limited... More

Good Spanish comfort food option. Good for breakfast and dinner. Food is freshly cooked at affordable cost. We eat three times during our three days stay in Madrid.

I would characterise this restaurant as a Spanish 'greasy spoon'. It's a basic cafe setting with photos of the various dishes on the walls. The main waiter was very warm and welcoming, but other staff were less pleasant, with a tendency to walk away before we'd finished speaking to them. The food itself wasn't good. We had a big bowl... On the first day we arrived in Madrid we were exhausted and wanted to eat somewhere within a 1 mile walk from our hotel. We were very friendly welcomed and immediately got our table in between several Spaniards eating their three course lunch. We both longed for some meat so husband chose the beef with gorgonzola and I chose the... More

Good, not fancy alternative to the Gran Vía tapas restaurants. Big portions, fair prices and friendly service. Recommended.

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
