Gorgeous restaurant, a lot attention to detail, beautiful interior. Food was really good too! We had a special offer, and depending on what you chose, some of the portions could be a little on the small side, but I think it's because of the voucher we had, as I saw the portions at other tables that were ordering à la... What an interior! Some might think it opulent but wow. It delivered - the food was delicious. Scallop ravioli to start and fillet steak for the main - top quality. The live opera music added even more to the experience. Excellent wines too. The restauant couldn't be better located, being right in the centre of Madrid. Afterwards, we all had... More

La Capilla de la Bolsa is a restaurant in the center of Madrid. It has four salons, one at each floor. Each salon has a theme and is decorated accordingly. Twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays there's live opera performed at short intervals after 9:30 p.m. at no extra cost. We reserved a table in La Capilla Salon on... More

La Capilla is truly a romantic evening, with background violin music and opera singing. The room, especially the ceiling, is fantastic. The food is surprisingly very good for a touristy place and the service outstanding.

Fantastic location. Main room impressive and then smaller rooms upstairs. Food good - but frankly not the reason to go here. Go on a Tuesday or Thursday night and from 9.30pm enjoy the opera - 4 or 5 songs during the night a real treasure.

The food was amazing, the venue excellent and prices very reasonable compared to the quality. And the service and staff were simply amazing. An experience that cannot be missed if you are in Madrid.

Visited on a business trip and we had a dinner here downstairs - it was private dining. The food came out in a few mini courses - enjoyed all the food and the service was great. Would recommend.

I could describe the breathtaking restaurant, the mouth-watering food, and the friendly and professional service, but it really must be experienced first-hand. This is my second time dining at La Capilla, and it still takes my breath away.

Friends from Madrid made this reservation for a Friday night. When you walk in, you are astounded by the beautiful decor in the main room. Absolutely stunning. Started out with the scallops for an appetizer, which may have been the best scallops I have ever had. Fresh and large. Ordered the solomillo for main course. Good, not great. There was... More

Enjoy different Mediterranean dishes with innovative touches and the highest quality raw produce. The culinary philosophy of La Capilla de La Bolsa is to process food as little as possible to ensure that it does not lose any of its flavour. Seasonal vegetables and seafood include gratinée sea urchins with a touch of cava wine, or our marinated red partridge salad served on a bed of lettuce leaves. The main dishes are also exquisitely prepared. Choose from sword fish and avocado carpaccio served with prawn vinaigrette, traditional farmyard chicken in an apple, pepper and nut sauce, or grilled fillet of sirloin steak and grilled fillet mignon with pepper sauce. The menu is completed by a selection of hand-crafted desserts, where you will find highly original dishes such as large Szechuan-peppered strawberries with bourbon vanilla ice cream. Also available is a wide selection of both national and international wines and cigars.

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
