Go really early or be prepared to wait, this place gets really busy with locals and tourists. Good choice of tapas, spag meatballs for the kids even. Wasn't prepared to enjoy the fried aubergine with honey but it was fantastic. Mini hamburgers, home made olive...More

Walked in one evening with two kids. Manager asked our name and said it would be about 20 mins for a table. Waited in crowded bar and 20 mins later were shown to the next available table. Service was quick and wide choice (although not...More

Easily a 5 star..... Originated in 1940 and we had the pleasure of being served by the owner. Authentic tapas, tentative service and extremely busy; not only with holiday makers but also many locals. Food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Would definately recommend for...More

Authentic freshly cooked tapas, served in a hurry. If you're after slick service and sophistication this is not your place. It's good honest food that flies out of the kitchen and a buzzing atmosphere. My only criticism would be not enough fish and shellfish on...More

Have had tapas and food there before in a prior trip and always liked this bar. Always busy, very popular spot with locals. On this occasion I found the staff unfriendly, unhelpful. I speak some spanish (castilian, no catalan) but seemed that dealing with tourists...More

We checked out this place after reading reviews. The food was tasty and the local beer was good. I can't share everyone's opinion of the customer service though; I found it a bit lacklustre unfortunately and due to the language difficulties we had with our...More

We wandered down to find this restaurant full but the man in charge encouraged us to stay. We were quickly moved to a table when one became available and later offered a bigger, more comfortable one which we accepted. The food was excellent, particularly the...More

This bar is an excellent option for enjoying great tapas, wine and beer in a very nice atmosphere. Besides the typical tapas: bravas, small squids, padrón peppers they also served more elaborated tapas with duck or tune. The service is very attentive even when the...More

Description
El Cable is a Tapas Bar in Sitges. Our tapas are really tasty (our customers say that they are the best tapas in Sitges and around). Some of our tapas have the best reputation in town, such as, Patatas Bravas (french fries with a spicy sauce), squid roman style (fried rings) or our homemade ham croquettes, to name but afew. And we have been in this business for years:The Andreu family opened el Cable in 1940, in a different premises not far from where the bar is located now. In February of 1956 we opened el Cable where it is now. The whole building was built by members of the same family. In the beginning, the first floor was the family’s home and the upper floors were guestrooms (a hostel). In the sixties we lived through the northern tourism boom working as a bar and hostel. In the late sixties the bar was given to one of the family son´s: Sisco Andreu (Sisco del Cable) and the rest of the building stopped working as a hostel and was turned into apartments. In 2003 el Cable was passed onto Sisco’s Sons: Francesc and Manel, the families third generation in the business. From then on, el Cable has gone from strength to strength, it has been updated and modernised while still keeping the original style.Nowadays we are not only a little town’s bar: we are the bar of this town, a friendly local meeting point for many people in Sitges.
