From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, our experience of El Celler de Can Roca was nothing short of amazing. The ratio of staff to tables is ridiculous and the whole service is slick and smooth with dishes constantly arriving and being...cleared, new cutlery being laid, matching wines being explained and served. We had the 18 course feast menu with the dessert A Trip to Habana being subsituted without question for one of us and matching wines which included a sublime 1967 Garnacha, an expensive Katsuyama Gen sake and a delicious, sweet, sticky Matilla-Morilles. Lunch took over 4 hours and we still weren't rushed, being offered the garden to relax with coffe and liquers. Given the amount of food we had, the quality of the ingredients and the cooking processes involved together with the amouint of staff needed to serve it was good value at Euro 225 per person. The matching wines at Euro 110 was incredible value. Clearly, this menu isn't to everyones taste and to some would seem very expensive but as a dining experience in a 3-star Michelin restaurant that has twice been voted the best in the world, we felt very priveleged. Meeting Josep Roca after our lunch was the highlight.More
