Doesn't get much better than this place for tapas in Barcelona. Eat it all, try out anything they give you and enjoy!

Such a cool place filled with local spirit. We loved the pink Cava served in old school champagne glasses! And the tapas was tasty too - fluffy croquettes and yummy olives, I wish we had tried the more. Make sure to grab a bottle of the sparkling stuff to take with you, an absolute bargain at 3 Euros! Standing room... More

We were told to try this place out so we did. Got the rose cava which was like a mix of champagne and mild liquor. Then couldn't pronounce the food we ordered but pointed to prosciutto I saw others it and man, it was the best. Wish I can tell you what it was called. Did not get the sandwiches... More

La Xampanyeria is definitely the most authentic place I visited in Barcelona. The typical Tapas bar is usually crowed with people stopping for a snack. The food is the delicious and the Espumante is refreshing. We've tried a whole variety of Tapas and left happy and a little tipsy. I absolutely recommend visiting this place when in Barcelona.

Ideal place to have some tapas with cava in the end afternoon. Very cheap place, always full, with good tapas, sandwich and cava. But most of all, an atmosphere that you'll not find elsewhere.

This is a hidden local bar that is very tiny and very spanish here you can taste good cavas and eat local tapas for a good price. This is a "must visit" place when going to Barcelona.

One of the best 3 tapas bars in barcelona, totally local on food and drinks. Try their home made wine. The prices are very reasonable. A little bit small place.

This cosy little place is so amazing and friendly Experience the waiters write your order at a paper and remember in a huge amount of people what you ordered during the last hour (wonder how they describe you 🤔😳😂) You have to go there when you are in Barcelona 👍🏼😉 hard to find but look for the que outside 👍🏼😎

In the years since my last time in Barcelona, I've dreamt of this place. Standing room only, be ready to embrace a small crowd at any time of the day. Get a bottle of cava and a couple of sandwiches for less than 15 Euros on your way to/from the Barceloneta beach! Bottles to go for 3 Euros. Love this... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
