When I asked my AirBnB host where he likes to eat, he said he really liked the lunch special at Cal Boter. The menu was only written in Catalan and we were the only foreigners in the room. The waiter was very patient with us though. I ordered randomly off the Menú del Día and ended up with a beer,... More

Incredibly simple and authentic Catalan cooking in a sweet restaurant tucked away in a side street. This was one of the highlights of our stay in Barcelona, the food was memorable and the restaurant was filled with locals. We ordered artichokes, Pimientos rellenos de brandada de bacalao, Mollejas de cordero a la brasa and butifarra, all of which were top... More

I first visited this restaurant 20 years ago, when Barcelona was not unite the magnet for foreign visitors it is now. It was great to find that, though there are versions of the menu beyond Catalan and the waiters are now multi-lingual, the food USC still of great quality and as authentically Catalonian as ever. Pigs feet with shrimps, snails,... More

Went there for lunch. We were three persons, me, my wife and our 2 year old boy. Not sure what happened, but our son let us eat together... The food was very good. Me and my wife had different things, because we wanted to try as many as we could, and it was the only place we're we liked everything.... More

We stopped here for a late lunch on a Monday and the place was busy with both locals and tourists. The staff were helpful with the menu as our Spanish didn't quite stretch! The food was very good and so was the house wine which was served in a traditional carafe. It was relaxing, we weren't rushed at any time... More

A delicous lunch of true Catalan specialties! Wonderful ambience with people enjoying their neighbhood resto. I was alone but certainly treated royally. The lunch menu is very brief and for 11.50 euros unbelievable! Each table was provided with a pourron of wine (the Catalan way in which one can drink without a glass .... google it, please) which many men... More

I returned this year to again enjoy the excellent ox steak they server. Grilled simply over charcoal it is one of the best steaks i have ever had. Mostly local Catalans eat here as it is far off the beaten track but well worth the visit. For lunch arrive about 1245 and you will easily get a table.

We first ate here two years ago and were looking forward to our return. Once again we were not disappointed with the food, service, ambience and value in this local restaurant. We were seated by 1pm and there was a queue by 1.30 (mainly local clientele). Lunch menu great value for 11.50 (3 courses and wine). We liked the sausage... More

Excellent Catalan cuisine, great atmosphere and warm hospitality. For dessert ask for the traditional almond cake served with the Porto wine.

Staying in Gracia

Neighbourhood Profile
Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the centre, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theatre that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.
