Went to Wakasa with some friends, for supper, following a recommendation. They were right! This tiny place is a gem! Delicious, very fresh, authentic Japanese food. The service is absolutely exquisite; informative, original, friendly and respectful. Amazing lotus root starters, really fresh fish and surprisingly tasty desserts. Warning! It is very small - only way to devote so much care... More

Quick update to my first review of Wakasa, dated 2010. * There's a new, slightly larger place. * Food quality has improved, and is absolutely outstanding. * Book in large advance. You'll read reviews with two main negative points: it is expensive (and this is true, but quality/price rate is still very good), and service is slow (and this is... More

I visited this restaurant for my friends birthday celebration. I really like Japanese food, but I have never had a gourmet experience like this one before. I recommend to give a visit to this place if you want to be culinary transported to Japan without leaving Barcelona. The food and drinks were incredibly delicious, the owners and staff are really... This small and apparently simple restaurant is the place where I've enjoyed the best japanese food in Barcelona. The gastronomical offer is honest, creative and made with love and devotion. So the experience is complete: great taste and strong emotions. And, for those who don't like the sake, they have a short but well selected list of catalan and spanishs... More

The best sushi ever! The couple is fantastic, and the experience is really different from any sushi place in Barcelona...maybe Europe!

Yes, ever! And great explanation of every single dish! Only 3 people working..For that, service is very slow despite the very few table (yes, u need to book in advance).. There is more light and "simplicity" respect to what you usually expect in a Japanese restaurant.. but when you start eating..well, there start the story... you can feel a very... More

It is a very small place, and you might have to make reservations in advance, but it is certainly worth it. The sushi is fresh made, not taken from the cooler as you see in many sushi places, and tastes like the real deal in Japan. Very excellent. The hot dishes are a true delight. Especially the Cocquile saint-jacques, japanese... More

Wakasa is a hard-to-get. The "tasca" is quite small, it only serves 10 people divided in 4 tables, and it is even hard to have a reservation (long waiting list). I have shown up by chance for luch, on a sunday afternoon, and got lucky. So, after this necessary foreword, the place is family driven, traditionally furnished and the ambience... More
