Visited last week during atorrential downpour. Yes, it is very difficult to find. On arrival the manager/owner was not in the least interested ! Our wet coats were left hanging on our chairs. Selection of shellfish was very uninteresting & very rushed. Having been to the market & noted how cheap the prices are for fish & shellfish this restaurant... More

This little hole in the wall restaurant was the best meal of the trip. No need to order, and don't try. They bring you cava (sparkling wine), and many courses. After dinner choice of aperitif....we chose orujo herbed...herbal infused grappe like drink. The entrance is thru a door next to an ATM down a corridor. No sign out front. See... More

Main problem is to find it.....once you are in Pla del Palau, you must find a very narrow (i mean very narrow...approximately 1.2 mts) "passadis" (corridor) between two buildings and walk some 15 metres till the entrance of the restaurant. They have a fixed daily menu but give you a couple of alternatives should you not like any of the... More

This restaurant is hidden in a building which doesn't seem like a restaurant. A colleague of mine living in Madrid new this nice address (we were a group of 10) and we all agreed that the address is great! Then you get inside and are immediately brought to this typical Spanish restaurant atmosphere. The waiters are very kind and welcoming.... More

This is my favourite fish restaurant in Barcelona. They don't have a proper menu but they offer "the catch of the day" based on what they found directly from the fishermen. Consequently, every time is a surprise but every fish plate is always delicious, fresh and prepared in a simple way yet very tasty. As appetizers, do not miss the... More

Made a reservation for dinner, recommended by some person as the best sea food restaurant in this area: as arrived, it was almost empty (at dinner time!), offered us only a touristic overpriced degustation menu, with no chance to select what to eat. The chef came and told us he could made us a fish salad...at dinner time!! for a... More

We went there with a group of 8 people, made reservations and then the food began to flow, from baby eel in garlic, large shrimps, vongole, sea bass, barcelona sweets, all was put on our table without a menu... Fun concept but a little bit too expensive... When do you say stop?

Pricey but a first class restaurant and to be recommended as the star turn if you want a special treat over a weekend break. No menu at all... The professional waiters just bring plate after plate! As a tip to the punters... I wish with hindsight we had so ' no more' towards the end as we could have done... More

One of the best meals I have ever enjoyed, Passadis del Pep is an essential experience for anyone who loves authenticity and great cooking. The staff are wonderful, they couldn't have been more welcoming and caring. An evening that will live long in the memory.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
