Very small very busy but lovely and kind staff make it fun. Just ask if you can’t speak Spanish - they will tell you what’s what and make sure you don’t order too much. Reasonable price and sooo tasty

I stopped by for a light lunch after a visit to Santa Maria del Mar. The staff behind the counter was very friendly and helpful, although the young guy who actually brought the food to the table was a little condescending. I ordered a glass...More

Had a great night here with friends. The waiter helped us with recommendations from the menu, we enjoyed our food enormously. The cava was also delicious. The service was great, friendly and helpful. Would definitely say stop here for food if you’re in Barcelona!!

We visit here each time we’re in Barcelona, and are never disappointed - it’s always really busy and buzzing, and the food never disappoints. This time we had tomato bread, razor clams, calamares, iberico ham and padron peppers, and they were all delicious!

Went after the flamenco performance next door. It’s very crowded - just push your way in. Only took us 5 minute to get a table. A lot of people are drinking and eating at the bar. They have their own Cava - get a bottle...More

We were wandering around looking for somewhere to eat, Tapeo el Born had been recommended but when we got there we saw El Xampanyet opposite absolutely heaving with people so we had to try! Tiny, chaotic and very busy it was a real experience -...More

A tourist trap of the highest order, most of the clientele seemed to be from USA and there because "it is on the list" definitely a case of "the Emperors new clothes". The famed cava was not cava, it was sugared water with an injection...More

Great atmosphere, always busy, but service is spot on and helpful if Spanish isn't your first language. The food just keeps on coming! Every one a sensation.

I was in this place first time in 1993. Unforgettable then and unforgettable now. This is a journey on a true tapas bar from the old times so expect chaos, noise, crowd, great food and wonderful cava. The tortilla con chorizo was heaven itself. The...More

El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent
the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But
this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually
enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few
places that live and breathe such exciting energy
regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood
seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the
city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants

It's really small place and really hard to find a place to sit. Most of the people are standing. However I saw couples or friend groups there. If you go early you might find a place.

I don't think that they take reservations. It's more of a first come first served situation. I would strongly recommend to go earlier before they open especially if it's a larger group of people.
