Happened upon this superb fish restaurant in Barcelona. The ambience was quiet and pleasant and our waiter was very professional and kind without being patronizing. The bonus was that his English was very good and that the restaurant offers to give additional ingredient information if...More

the food was very good at this 50-year-old fish restaurant. I recommend ordering several tapas and fish as a main course.

We regret that the paella did not seem right. It is one of our most famous dishes and specialty of the house for 60 years. If you tell us exactly what you thought was wrong, we'll find out what happened

Very nice place in Barceloneta, a bit on the posh side but not too fancy and crazily priced. Fish is fresh and we'll prepared. Very nice paella and churriscos (if that's the name for small squids fried). I'd definitely go back.

Can Ramonet is based inside a 250 year old building, which is very special. I was told that it has some of the best paella in Barcelona, so had high hopes, however, our meal was nothing more than average. But the wine list is very...More

Good Morning. We regret that our paella has not lived up to expectations. We hope to meet you another time. Regards,

Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area
can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging
over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each
other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing
games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away,
Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line
the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed
sand structures making this the most visited beach in

One says that it is the first house that was constructed in the district of the Barceloneta; their walls later gave shelter to a bar of wines and to a tavern of fishermen. Until in 1956 Ramona and Ramonet they initiate a project that, without them to intuit it, would register the gastronomy of the marine district. Can Ramonet is a restaurant that watches the past but the present lives, and is that tradition and modernity are not fought. It offers an amiable space devised by the interiorista Lazaro Rosa Violan to facilitate a gastronomical experience reviewed by chef Jordi Herrera, of the Manairo restaurant. Faithful to the line of Catalan traditional kitchen emphasizing rice and fish, Can Ramonet serves so much in his interior as in his terrace black, caldosos rice and paellas of the house, vermicelli, zarzuelas of seafood or sea breams, meats selections or a well-taken care of selection of covers and classic subjects of gossip and author. “… and thus it will follow because a place that lasts three centuries has eagerness of being eternal.”
