It is a pleasure to walk out of lunch with a warm, happy glow, and Can Majo delivered just that feeling at lunch last week. It was a sunny, warm winter day and my wife and I had hoped to sit outside on the terrace overlooking the beach and the sea but it was shut down. Inside proved to be... More

Because of great reviews we had lunch at Can Majo. We were very disappointed to put it short. The restaurant was full of tourists and the menu is offered in several languages. We chose fish, Paella and scampi. The food was tasteless and service was not good either. For me this is typical tourist location in Barceloneta and I would... More

My wife and I enjoyed everything about this restaurant. We try paella quite often and this was by far the best we have had. My wife is from France and she is a real foodie. Everything was delicious. We tried the fish soup, the fried small fish, the hot raspberries in ice cream --- and of course the Sangria. The... More

Absolutely loved the food. Great service as well. Just give the waiter an idea of what you want and let them take over. Trust me, you will not go wrong.

Wonderful food, service and very good wine list. We have to get better at eating out in Barcelona...it is SO easy to order (and eat) too much. We went for Paella, and ended up with not only that, but beautiful oysters, octopus and grilled squid. All really good, but just way too much. We were guided to a very inexpensive... More

We were looking for a restaurant with great paella and Can Majo hit the spot. I read about this restaurant on yelp and on other travel websites and Can Majo does have the best paella. It is jam packed with seafood and the portions are huge. They have a nice patio by the beach where you can sit and enjoy... More

This restaurant stands out in my 5 day stay in Barcelona. On one website this was listed has having a remarkable paella, which was in fact very good. But I also had their fisherman's soup with rice, which was really impressive. While in Barcelona one can easily find paella, which is quite good but has a narrow range of quality;... More

Probably our best meal while visiting Barcelona. Had the cod fritters, razor clams and paella. Fantastic wine list.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
