While starting in Barcelona, we wanted to sample some excellent Spanish cuisine, we looked on Trip Advisor and came across Cera 23. When the taxi driver dropped us off, I have to admit we did wander whether we had done the right thing as the area did look a little 'rough'. I don't wish to offend but it did look... More

Mere words are not enough to rate this restaurant From the moment we walked in the door we were looked after like VIP's To start you really must have a Blackberry Mojito their signature cocktail in the words of She Who MUST Be Obeyed its to die for. The menu is is not too expansive which to me is always... More

Literally don't know what to say the place itself is lovely inside feels more fine dining than others in Barcelona. The food was gorgeous and not like anything I've had before, cooked to perfection! Great helpful staff and atmosphere was chilled out but lovely to. Would definitely recommend and return if I get the chance! Two starters two mains a... More

We visited cera23 last night on a whim and what a great place! We had no reservation but they managed to get us a table after a short wait. The food was out of this world and hospitality was superb. The menu was not to large but gave plenty of choice. We will definitely be back now we have found... More

We stayed in Barcelona for 4 nights and had Cera 23 at the top of our to-do list. Along with a host of positive reviews, the website and menu confirmed this would be the ideal foodie experience for me. There is enough tradition to make it clear you are in Barçelona, and enough invention to tantalise and push the boundaries.... More

This was hands down the best dining experience I've had not just in Barcelona but in Europe. The server, Arthur was very attentive, friendly and warm during our dinner at this establishment. The ambience was very cozy yet romantic. The blackberry mojito was very fruity, unique, refreshing and not too sweet. We ordered the risotto and the volcan arroz which... More

This is a well-run operation which turns out great food in a cosy atmosphere. It caters for tourists as well as locals and has a menu in English although the dishes are authentically Catalan. Service was excellent.

My partner and I were lucky to get a table without a reservation on a Monday evening, but by the time we'd left the place was heaving so I would definitely recommend booking! We had a great experience from start to finish. Service was attentive and friendly and the ambience relaxed but ideal for a date or special meal. I... More

The title is lying. The place has the best starter and the best dessert in barcelona. The staff was really nice and funny. You should def. choose carpaccio for starter and chocolate cake for dessert. Main dishes wasn't the best I've tried..with some kind of brown sauce on my pasta. But okay. Would go there again for starter and dessert.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
