Our party of 5 stopped in here for dinner after a long day sightseeing. We ordered the house suggested Rioja wine and loved it. The house Cava was great as well. We ordered 2 tapas to share - the assorted croquettes and assorted omelettes. We enjoyed both a lot. The entrees were veal casserole, steak and grilled vegetables. The fried... More

The service and the atmosphere is pretty good and there looked to be some decent catalan dishes on the menu - maybe the dishes we chose were the great ones, but there are certainly better choices out there.

Had a great meal. I had the goat cheese salad and the sangria de cava and would recommend both. Nice atmosphere. Definitely plan to go back.

Our hotel near the Ramblas recommended this authentic catalonian restaurant. Susanna was so amazing. She suggested what to order, and then brought us all the ingredients and made the bread up for us with fresh garlic, olive oil, salt and fresh tomato. She was happy to explain in English and made us feel very welcomed and relaxed. Highly recommend!

We walked by on our first day visiting Barcelona and decided to return for a meal later in our five day stay. To make this short; we had better food and drinks every other meal during our days in the fabulous city. Other places has better menus and more friendly staff. We will look in, smile and walk by next... More

I have enclosed the menu. We had a large group and they accommodated us well. The food was local fare- sausages, tapas beer and wine by the liter! It was a great place to get some catalun food. Atmosphere was very authentic and rustic.

Visited at 9pm today. Plenty of free tables but busy enough for a good atmosphere. Service good, food good, good portions. As a suggestion I would say the menu needs to desribe more the ingredients in the dishes. I cannot eat egg but found that the 'salmon with toasts' came with a large amount of grated egg on the top... Had local food which was tasty. The waiter took a few moments to show his own way how to prepare the grilled bread which was nice. A downer was the wine however. It was way too young and should stay a bit longer in the cellar instead.

The food here is tasty, local and ample. The portions are large and can be shared. The food is local, Catalan style and delicious. Don't miss the local ham. I also enjoyed the cava sangria. This restaurant had very attentive service and was reasonably priced. It is located a block off the Ramblas; turn at the farmacia.

We asked for a recommendation in our hotel and the receptionist without hesitation suggested here which was less tha 100 metres from the hotel. Could they be on a bonus. Absolutely not. This recommendation was well earned. This was our best meal in a 4 day stay.Lovely atmosphere, quiet when we arrived, full when we were leaving. Good menu with lots... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
