- typical french restaurant including interior decor - good food, typically french - friendly staff member. - difficult to communicate due to non english speaking staff - good service with a smile - moderate (on the high side) prices.

I am originally French and have been living in Barcelona for 30 years and the idea of going to a French restaurant here has never really interested me since it is usually expensive, pretentious and never something i could genuinely say french people eat on a regular basis at all. Au Port de la Lune is the complete opposite. Is... More

came upon this place by chance and went in to have a look at the menu. Ended up having the 15euro lunch menu, very good value with real home cooked French food. The salad was beautifully dressed and the pate de campagne was excellent. Tried a typical Senegalese dish which was very tasty, and excellent burger. Homemade apple and plum... More

I think French cooking is the best in the world when its a good restaurant, this unfortunately isn't. For starters the welcome was hardly friendly, the waiter could hardly be bothered to give us a table, yet it was virtually empty. Half the already limited menu wasn't available even though it was a Friday. They had pleasure in explaining they... More

Simple and good quality french food, as it should be in a bistrot. The "pichet de vin" was not a good choice, we should have ordered a glass of better wine, though as a "vin de table" it was ok. The waiter was helpful and friendly.

Everything at Au Port de la Lune is French canonical: steak tartare, bavette, oysters, confits, patés, cheeses, quiches, tartes and so many other yummy treats that the chef (also chef canonical - if you visit the restaurant you will see what I mean) cooks to perfection. The lunch menu (11 EUR and 15 EUR options) is one of the very... More

We go here often for a menu del dia, the food is really good authentic french cooking, I'm a big fan of the Pate and the Bavette is amazing. The restaurant itself nice on the inside, the music is fitting for the place it is and the staff are friendly and welcoming. A nice touch is the loyalty card where... More

I had a provelage to eat delicious food among friends. The service was good. The atmosphere was very positive so we stayed a little longer that we should. Definately good place to visit.

We had dinner at this small French restaurant 1 block off the Passeig de Gracia. It has no atmosphere to speak of, but the chef knows how to cook. The waiter/maitre d was very friendly and nice. He brought us a complimentary crock of duck rillettes with cornichon and bread. We ordered a nice, but inexpensive bottle of red wine... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
