Having wandered in without booking,we were made very welcome. The restaurant was a lively place, very traditional in its setting with a good and varied menu. We were looked after by Silvio, who had a great sense of humour as well as being very good at his job of looking after us. We ate fish and pork ,both of which were excellent... More

We were checking out the menu outside when Silvio enticed us inside with promises of the best paella in Barcelona. Silvio was very helpful and personable and spoke English. The paella was very good and we returned the next night. Silvio remembered us and advised us that the sole was fresh and large enough to share. It was presented to... More

Great to visit and sit out with your tapas, but please please go inside and have a look at the beauiful interior. Food was wonderful, and Silvio the waiter was wonderful with his recommendations and service. Make the effort to seek this place out.

After a big build up from the guys at Born Cut we went to Casa Delfin for a quiet lunch in the winters sun expecting the "best " coffee and food . Well that's what we got ; stunning fresh anchovies in the lightest of dusted presentation , and actually delivered hot ! Followed by a seasonal roasted vegetable stack... More

Thanks Make My Day (lonely planet) for the tip; this is a terrific though unassuming place with exceptional food, evidently much patronised by locals. One of our best meals in Barça, topped off when Silvio introduced us to his favourite Galician digestif.

Warm welcome, great service, quality tapas and one to return to again and again. My husband and I were new to the Tapas culture of Spain and delighted in tasting the variety of mouthwatering dishes that were on offer. It is a wonderful way to experiment with the wide ranging cuisine offered in the different regions of Spain.

I took my mum here for our last meal in Barcelona together and we loved everything about the place. It has a wonderful ambience (especially at night time) and the staff are incredibly attentive and helpful. Our server, Ingrid, humoured me in speaking Catalan and was both patient and made some great suggestions to change my dish to make it... More

With reviews in the Lonely Planet and only walking distance from our hotel we visited this very hospitable cafe several times during our Barcelona stay. Laura and her team were always excellent and this was one of the more memorable moments of our stay. We absolutely loved the Fried hot green salted Padron peppers, which shriveled when fried but such... More

The ambience is wonderful, with string lights and beautiful decor, especially on a rainy day. The cappuccino was one of the best I have had when traveling! Unfortunately, the food left some things to be desired: the pulpo was over seasoned, with the pepper overwhelming the rest of the tastes. I am sad to not give this a higher rating,... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
