Despite a very well-known guidebook showing the place on a map in totally the wrong place, it was well worth finding just off the main 'prom' in what might seem a dark alley. It's small, non-glitzy and with a very limited list of tapas but I could have happily stayed all evening eating sausage, anchovies, fried 'pescaditos' and drinking small... More

Visited with my girlfriend yesterday after reading reviews, it was fun finding it but well worth it. Only four choices but I have to say it was the tastiest tapas since we arrived, the simple tomato salad fried fish and homemade sausage was delicious. Visit you won't be disappointed.😋😋😋😋😋😋

This was our second stop on a food tour, and it is small and was quite crowded on a Saturday night. The fried anchovies and tomatoes and onions were very good.

We found this place while on a food tour. The highlight was the flash-fried anchovies. We liked them so much that we went back another evening. They don't have these anchovies every night so when we went back we had other food - all great! The wine and beer was good. It was a busy, popular spot that is worth... More

Went here as part of a food tour. Great fried fish, tomato and onion tapa and Spanish wine. Busy, friendly and very memorable. Amazing value for money.

Ate lunch there on our first day in Barcelona. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Ordered about 10 different tapas dishes and all were great. Reasonably priced and good service

Heard about this little spot from a local food & wine guide. She said she loved it for it's simplicity. Cold beer also great house wines. Fried fish was delicious as well as the anchoas in vinegar sauce. Gorgeous tomato and onion salad too. It's a lively, tiny spot filled with locals. Loved it and miss it.

It is always pretty busy at this place, at least the times I saw it. There is quick and friendly service. Great atmosphere to taste some very good fried fish, tostadas con tomato y anchoas. Would recommend this place, good price-quality ratio.

Thank Fee S

If you are looking for an authentic tapas bar, with the same dishes (anchovies, sausage tomato salad with onions, anchovies and olives and fried sardines) than when it was founded in 1945, where you can enjoy an exceptional wine, do not hesitate. Tourists and lifelong parishioners, anonymous and famous guests (from Ferran Adria taking a break from his techno-emotional cuisine to Daniel Bruhl preparing his next film or Bono, from U2, tuning his voice); all of them looking for a place in one of the six tables of this charming restaurant in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, a reference and an institution of tapas in Barcelona.
