Terrible 'restaurant' in a pretty location. Food awful - we had a mixed tapas selection, 5 plates for €50, this consisted of lukewarm croquettes, Spanish sausage, potatos, aubergine and calamari. Around 3-4 couples came and sat down at tables for drinks next to us, the waiter refused to serve them drinks if they were not ordering food, they all subsequently... More

Foget it, don't even drink there. Food was old and awful. The bar men unhygienic and the prices even for the rambla stupendously high! In two days I didn't use that much money as one meal in la zarzuela! It is just not worth it!

Although the food was decent- yet over priced - it was the service that ruined it. They make a living from ripping off tourists. They don't provide a drinks menu on purpose so when you get the bill you have a heart attack. I paid 10 euros for a fanta! Be smarter than us and beware that they have different... More

My girlfriend and I were looking for a good yet cheap paella, but after two mouthfulls of the paella, we were unsatisfied to say the least. I ordered a estrella damm beer with my paella. The first sip of my beer i noticed a tingly and bitter aftertaste. But i did not act on it because the paella tasted that... More

Stay away from this place. Horrible food and very expensive. This is for real. The location is nice but don't be persuaded. Had a glass of coke for almost €8. Had a mixed salad and the tomatoes are really awful.

One of the waiters was very pushy and almost insisted we have a starter. We just wanted cheese and jamon which was ridiculously expensive. The paella lacked taste (I could do better) and it cost 90 euros. One waiter did pack the remaining cheese and jamon for us nicely in tin foil and we had it the next day in... More

We looked up and down the Ramblas for a reasonable priced meal for a family of 4, with food our kids would like. We selected this restaurant based on the fact that meals appeared to be a reasonable price, and the food was family friendly. Big mistake!!! The food was average, at best. It filled a hole but nothing special.... More

We had a couple of drinks at the terrace of La Zarzuela at the Ramblas. It's an excellent place to sit and to look at all kinds of people passing by. Street artists do their work and we enjoyed the scenery greatly. Good place to be, but keep in mind that the prices are not cheap. You pay for the... More

While walking on La Rambla so we thought we would stop for some tapas and beer/wine. This place looked OK from the outside but kind o shabby when we entered. We had been seated already so decided to stay. This was the first mistake. The beer and wine were local and wa the best part of the experience. When the... More

Staying in La Rambla

Neighbourhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-metre boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetising selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
