Everything was perfect. If you want eat fresh seafood go there. Very small restaurant with only six tables but very good and friendly service. The price is fair and equal.

As noted in other reviews this is a small venue but the food and the friendly service are great! We went for lunch and did not make reservations , there were several locals which was a good sign. The lady who is the owner was extremely helpful making sure that we knew what kind of fish we were ordering as... More

If you are looking for fresh seafood this is your place. Forget about a fancy place. This is as humble as you will get in BCN but you will pay for what you will eat not for how good the place looks like or how pretty is the waitress. Only 5 tables in the restaurant so make sure you make... More

A small family run place which only seats about 25 people. The chalkboard menu on the wall shows what is available on the day. Everything is extremely fresh and simply prepared - clams are steamed and arrive hot and juicy, calamari is gently deep fried, prawns are lightly grilled, the fish barbecued. The fresh taste is the hero. The owners... More

Montalban may be short on ambiance, but the food is above and beyond. You could easily pay far more money for the excellent seafood they serve here, but the minimalist surroundings keep it simple and wonderful. No one speaks English here, but it's not a problem and don't let that deter you from a visit. Our server was excellent at... More

If you love crustaceans then this will become your favourite "prawn joint". Its a 24 seater with no menu just a chalkboard high on one wall. Apart from prawns, clams, mussels and fish we always order the cockles, which are steamed and hit the table hot, rich, full of juicy perfection. The calamari is cleaned, sliced into rings, dusted in... More

We were recommended this place by our hosts (airbnb) and being British, arrived at 830 for dinner to find the shutters down and a shop front that made it look as if it had closed down ages ago. After a drink down the road in a very 'buzzy' area full of atmosphere we came back to find the shutters up... More

My partner and I went to this restaurant after reading the TA reviews beforehand, it did not disappoint. We struggled a bit with the communication as the (friendly) owners /staff did not speak any English at all, but we got there in the end with ad hoc hand gestures and 1 other customer translating at one point from the next... This little cozy place is a place where I will come back next time for sure. It is run by a nice and welcoming family. The seafood variety is great and delicious. This is the best paella I have tried in the city. The place is quite small but it has its charm and atmosphere of a home. You won't... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
